Low FPS
I was recently in a fort war and was getting 3 fps. This meant that I couldn't move properly or target. All I could really do was areas.
I am wondering if the new client would help with this? Or is it just my bad internet connection? Thanks for your help. |

Afaik internet connection doesn't or shouldn't have anything to do with FPS.
Bad connection leads to a bad ping rather than a bad FPS. The only reason I can think of concerning few FPS is a bad computer Or has it been different earlier?

Try running in safe mode, other than that your PC may just not be powerfull enough.

Yeah, have a mess around with your graphics settings: in addition to and instead of safe more, try turning everything down in the options bit when you first log in and also the frame rate when you're playing the game. Also, make sure you're not doing things like listening to Internet radio, etc. as that may also have a slight impact too.

With the new client running OpenGL, fixed pipeline, I get verry little or no lag whatsoever during wars no matter how many people there are. DirectX ... well ... don't bother. lol. I switched to OpenGL in the new client and pressed auto-detect ... watched a big ship for a minute or so and pressed escape or left-clicked (can't really remember). It adjusted the settings, I left them like that and everything is good. I do get some weird graphical glitches on occasion, but to me it's a small price to pay to get rid of lag and no doubt they'll fix it soon.
