So errr.. I might not be around for abit.
I turned on my PC today and it died.
BSOD (Windows ftw) apon start up and the graphics (card? Not the monitor) has messed up somehow and everything is pixellated and in the wrong place. BUT, last night I bought a new PC! So that couldn't have been better timing. So until it comes I might not be around much, except IRC which I can get on my iPod, or if I can swindle a laptop off a sibling. That's all, Matt out. P.S. Regnum-Irae is a pt.

If you just happen to have a NVIDIA-card from the 8-series: pre-heat your oven to about 200 deg. C, pre-heat (only) the GPU about 5 minutes with a hair dryer, cover the rest of the card with tinfoil and pre-heat a bit more for about two minutes. Then put the card in the oven and bake it for about 4 minutes.

 Always have at least two backup machines standing by with RO installed, just in case of emergencies like this. People, I can't stress this enough! |

Actually I do, it's an NVIDIA 8600 GT.
I'll leave it over night and see if it's recovered before I serve up some graphic card flambe.

I know the feeling. My two week old HDD just went up, so I'm on my laptop for a week until I get a replacement
