Another Horus Story xD Apoc Style
Meryn and I Hate You decided to try this business of writing a Horus story enjoy what we have and anxiously await more
Part I Panting and gasping for air, the young huntress staggered to catch herself against the immense wall which surrounded her beloved homelands. The scorching sun was low in the west and crimson dust blew across the Ignean desert and swirled up around Meryn’s feet and ankles. “Would the lady bid well to enter amongst the familiar realm?” Trel-had spoke kindly, for he knew what great affection Meryn felt for her countrymen and her native soil, but he also knew her passion for joining them against the forces of evil which had since long ago invaded and conquered the ancient lands. Having been battered by the effects of war, she was ashamed to come crawling back to the safe reaches of the Ignis Great Wall, and yet the guard encouraged her to rest. “Yes, I believe it would do me some good to seek refuge and continue my training.” The training was grueling and ceaseless, or so it had seemed to her these many months, but she had not reached that maturity which would leave her a lethal role in the battle which raged on. Since her journey began, she had not known what kind of commitment it would be to join the ranks of the Ignis army. As a young denizen, she had only heard from her mother the stories sent by her father of his great expeditions through the untamed war zone. She remembered sitting by the fire in her childhood home in Nazraah Tej Village. As she played with a makeshift bow she had constructed with some branches and twine and petted the sweet hyena cub that rested at her side, her mother would read her the letters that arrived each day from her father (and he did write every day). Meryn would listen, with wide eyes, to the fascinating adventures her father had written of with such strong patriotism, and it was then that she knew she would always want to join the ranks in effort to gain back the lands which once belonged to her people. But she had not thought of how great an effort that would be and what struggle it would be to even make it that far. Her mind far off in the past, reality came back to her quickly as her entire body pulsed with the energy which transported her back onto safe soil. Her head racked with pain and her sides aching, she finally collapsed to the red dirt. “How could I have failed my people? I am a disgrace to this great army, to my clan, and to this realm.”

Part II
As Meryn lay in the red sands lifeless, a large shadow looms over her. It's Rage accompanied by Lantem escorting a caravan to Samal of provisions and weapons. He caught sight of her limp frail body off to the side of the great Ignis gate, no wounds... obviously exhausted from constant war and our harsh desert heat. "Leave her be, she is in the shade... It will do her good to toughen up if she is truly ignean." Lantem scoffed. Rage bursts out in laughter. "We must guide our young for them to become the ignean beasts you portray." Lantem smiles "Your wasting your time on this noob.", both always poking fun at war and each other. Rage, once a young orphan found stowaway on a ship at Nasraah Tej port. No one to this day knows where he came from. He spoke a different language back then and long forgotten the name of his homeland. Quickly put to work in the iron mines to earn his keep. He gradually developed into the huge man he is today. Humoring mages in the wizards tower with his fascination of books and learning. He was permitted to attend schooling in war strategy and philosophy. Tatian from Altaruk visiting Essadi took him in and brought him to Altaruk city as a potential for the ignean army. Heavy training endured in the coliseum revealed his talent as a barbarian. Lantem huge in stature even for a molok looked odd holding his bow in hand instead of a sword. Marksman was his profession and he taught in Nasraah Tej village during times of peace, now long forgotten. Compassionate and quiet was his nature. But his twisted sense of humor said otherwise. Only his close friends truly understood him. Just the day before, Lantem took four arrows in the back, he pulled them out himself to keep fighting at an Aggersborg fort siege. Rage strongly admired him for his persistence in battle. Considered a reliable friend as well as ally in war. Rage decided to take Meryn to Mednet city, current headquarters for the Apocalypse clan. Lantem reluctantly took two guards from the Ignean gate in place of him for defense. The barbarian carried Meryn to Mednet on his back through the desert valley towards Mednet. Meryn became conscious and began to cry. Rage aware of her tears understood her frustration. "Rest is just as important in war as the fight." he says.. "During calm moments between battles we must strategically rest so that we can perform at our best when needed. You have jumped into war prematurely obviously, and lack the basic knowledge hunters secretly pass on to each other on living and fighting in the most extreme conditions alone. Actually.. you are the first hunter I have ever seen fatigued. HAHAha" Meryn begins to get frustrated instead of depressed at this arrogant barbarians' criticism. Especially since its true... "Prepare yourself young apprentice! The clan Apocalypse is taking you in and we will make you into something to fear in the dark shadows of the war zone! Some of the best hunters in the realm belong to us. You will be able to do things you never imagined possible!" Meryn begins to ponder what awaits her near future as they reach Mednet. Denizen a conjurer in the clan begins to help her recover. "She will be fine soon, where will you take her after this?" Denizen asks. "For immediate training!!" Rage says gleefully. Denizen begins to frown..."Not him...anyone but him..." the barbarian laughs at him "Of course him! He is crazy, eccentric and for some odd reason he can kill without utilizing a pet! That takes talent!" Denizen says "Don't throw her into niche tactics like that right off on the start!" Rage says "I will prove to Lantem she is worth training. She will train with one of the... well best petless hunter in ignis. Then later one of the best pet hunters. I will gamble she will figure out how to combine both tactics and become an asset to the Apocalypse clan.” "I Hate You is like full time in the war zone...he loves war, lives there and plans to die there. He has become totally self-sufficient. He makes his own arrows, weapons, armour and supplies. He needs nothing... How the hell will you convince him to bother coming here to train a new clan member?" says Denizen. "I will take her to him! She will surprise Hate by finding him in the war zone. Her instincts and natural talent will impress him enough to feel she is worthy! Then once partially trained by him, it will be easy to convince a great pet hunter to train her." "You have too much faith in me, I have no talent." Meryn responds. Rage becomes serious for the first time in front of her and points a finger at her face, towering over her, she begins to tremble....he shouts "I will prove Lantem wrong!!, you WILL find Hate and be one BAD ASS HUNTER because I said so!! So stop this self defeating talk and get ready for our journey to ignis swamp where he was last spotted." Rage turns to look out the window at the sunset for a small pause.. "Meryn you died by the ignis gate today...now you are reborn!" To be continued...
