Confused about abilities as a leveling warrior
I'm a warrior who is going to be a knight. I just started playing so I'm pretty confused as to what abilities I should be adding. I enjoy the look of swords generally more than other weapons(granted I haven't seen much of this games weapons yet).
Can anyone help? |

Regardless of what you choose, you can always change your mind and reset your powers with the command /reset_powers

Don't feel forced to make a good build at once.
You can reset your skill points and discipline points anytime for free by writing /reset_powers in the chat and waiting 60 seconds. This way, you can try out what works best for you. My personal preference is using 2 weapons actually, blunt and pierce. I find that there are very few interesting skills in Slashing (South Cross, Disable Limb, Fatal Strike, Typhoon) compared to Blunt (I started listing them, but realized that all skills in the Blunt tree are actually more or less interesting). Then I use Spears together with my hammer to increase my range (spears have 2 range). Whenever I want to catch anyone I switch to the spear and use Balestra to immobilize them, and when in a 1on1 fight I switch to the spear as soon as my opponent starts moving too much to not miss any hit. Hopefully this gave you some inspiration at least. But as I said, feel free to try any weapon using /reset_powers. There will also be times during your leveling where a certain weapon type (usually blunt, somewhere around the 30's) won't be available where you might choose to reskill for another weapon type. Good luck!

Kick level 4.
But this is from a barbarian's perspective, so it should mainly serve as inspiration

As a new Knight your focus will be to grinding. All weapon trees have their + and minus. I do suggest you give all a try as you will have ample opportunity to get a feel for the one you like. As you approach WZ readiness, you will have to make setup decisions again.
A quick overview Slash : Best raw damage with good instant spells. I used this all the way through my grind. Good for grind. Quick kills. Blunt : lesser damage but lots of good debuffing options. Makes up for lesser damage in war situations. Not the greatest for grinding in my opinion. Pierce : Decent damage, 1 good crowd control spell and range. Good to keep out of range while hitting opponent. If you get serious positional problems ,(like I do) it may not work for you. Good for grind. You avoid hits. Best of luck. Artec |
