Question The Camino de Santiago de Compostela.

Short question - has anyone competed this or know anyone who has? I would really like to do this one day, so would be nice to hear some experiences.

I've never done it and I don't plan on doing it, but I've been to that region a couple of times. If you're coming from France, I think it makes more sense to pass through Léon than through Gijón or Oviedo, for historical reasons. There's a road marked as a pilgrim's path that goes from Oviedo to Léon, but the guy that made the map was right on not mentioning it because it is a very unsafe road for walking. It goes through the mountains, has very low visibility corners and it is a busy road since it's the only alternative to the paid highway. But if it wasn't for the dangerous combination of the last two facts, I'd totally recommend it for sightseeing, even being harder on the legs since it would allow you to get the best of both paths.
Not sure how the paths from Seville are, but I imagine it would be quite an experience, since you'd be able to feel the fascinating contrast between the South and North of the Peninsula, with all the history it entails.

Thank you for replying, this is still a plan in the making for me I got inspired by a film called - The Way. I'm not particulary religious just keen on travelling one day and I must admit I would enjoy the challenge that the Camino offers. I decided on the Camino Frances route as it seems(from what I've read) the easier route to travel on, the yellow arrows point the way after all. The route passes through Leon also Pamplona and Burgos, walking just means you can experience the scenery at your own leisure oh and I can take lots of photos.
