Weird 'invisible' shades that won't disappear
Well like the title says I have no idea why this is happening but RO is acting really weird. I got my laptop back a few days ago, installed RO again but this time I have these really weird and annoying graphical errors.
I hope this is a common problem, also hoping someone might now what I should do. Screenshots in the attachements. O4: Windows 7 64bit CPU: AMD Athlon II Dual-core M300 2.00GHZ GPU: Ati Mobility Radeon HD 2500/5100 Series - 512mb RAM Memory: 4GB Yes I have updated my GPU driver so I don't think that's the problem. Also I tried experimental client, and just the normal one. Again, I really hope someone can help me with this. Best regards, Archo. |

That's very weird. I'd guess re-installing RO would be the 1st step in case there's data file corruption, think the game checks for anything like that though. After that I'd suspect hardware ie. video card memory, that's just a shot in the dark though, hope its nothing that serious. Did it go away to get fixed and do other games run ok?
Could be directx/opengl causing it too, might be worth reinstalling directx and maybe trying a different version, could also be worth trying the linux client, it should install and run on a live cd distro ok. |

Hard to know for sure but that's pointing to directx, there are debugging tools for it but I have no idea what or how to use them. Are there dual graphics cards or shared system/graphics memory on that laptop? If there are things could be getting confused there, you can usually disable either card in the BIOS if it has dual graphics.
Glad your back playing too, very tempted to join in the fun but the killer cutesie bunnies are still putting me off :/ |

First up, this is a very weird issue. However, we're currently working on an engine enhancement that involves graphic renders optimization and overall performance issues fixing. This should completely fix this issue you're facing. Anyway, we'd like to know if more users are facing this same exact problem by providing us screenshots and technical specs. Best regards! |

All shader models and renderers will go through a revamp, that not only will enhance their visual features (specially on high end hardware) but also will improve performance on every graphics configuration. Considering this, the problem exposed in this thread should be completely wiped out. We'll inform the community in the upcoming days with a proper announcement regarding all of the improvements and new things to come; being this only one of all the enhancements waiting to be added to Regnum Online. Best regards |
