Looks pretty interesting, and Sci-Fi is my favourite genre! I'll definitely give it a read.

Ulti,
Have your brother check out www.smashwords.com. He can upload the book for free and they will convert it to several different electronic formats. This will give wider distribution than just for Kindle. If he decides to print the book, here are some helpful tips: 1. Lulu.com lets you upload your book for free and you can set the price as you like. He might need to do some more work to get it to their specs, but it isn't very difficult. The upside is no upfront cost, the downside is the profit per book sale is low and you have to market them yourself. 2. Have him check out what a "query letter" is and write one. Send it to agents and traditional publishers to see if he can get picked up by one. The upside is if you get picked up traditionally they will market your book and you could sell tens of thousands of books. The downside is you will only make pennies per book. 3. Self publishing hard copy will give you the highest profit margin per book. The downside, again, is that you have to market your own books. My wife writes young adult fiction and I help authors self publish so if he has questions, let me know. I will be happy to share what I've learned. - Dare |
