graphics glitchy and crashes before world entry

Hi I'm new to Regnum Online. I have yet to play it for I have had very little luck getting the client to run after installation.

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid and my graphics drivers are Intel 945 mobile chipset

I'm able to run Diablo 2 under WINE so I imagine I am able to play Regnum (on lowest settings at the least)

Anyway, on to the problem:

I was able to log in and select a server, after that I chose a faction then went on the create a character. The graphics became really glitchy (big random textures everywhere) but I still made my character. I hit the "Start" button or whatever and another loadscreen came up, then the client closed. It kept my video resolution at what the game was set to be (1080x768x32 I believe) so I ended up logging out to reset it.

I tried running it in a window and at other resolutions but with no luck.

Any ideas why this problem is occuring? And any pointers?

Do you run Regnum under Wine?
Then, please download and unpack the native regnum package for Linux.

Yes, that's a problem with the Intel 945 driver. (problematic since I can remember )
You can try to install a alternative driver: https://launchpad.net/~glasen/+archive/intel-driver
