Default Topic on Conji/Hunters using pets to level players

We are allowed to click a person and click defend ally.
This allows us to legally assist other players in combat.
This grants us the ability to aide other players in leveling/hunting

Why are so many of you angry about this feature?

I believe it is a fair tactic and I never had issue with it. In any case it does not matter that much in my view because you will either use it to attack me on your behalf or send it to attack me as an assist to your ally.
Looks fair to me.

This thread and poll is intentionally misleading. The real issue is that since a recent update, pets no longer take xp by doing damage. a level 50 pet, defending a level 1 player can kill high level mobs, and take the character through 10 levels in 10 minutes. I'll keep my opinion on the matter to myself, but the results of an intentionally misleading poll are useless.

it is power leveling and it shouldn't be allowed. although in my opinion there is nothing wrong with the conj summons because they have a certain limit of duration. but a warlock who posses a conju's summon and assists a ally and just go afk is certainly not an intended game mechanic. the same for hunter's pets. you could give a lvling knight support from 3 zarkits.. and let him just go grind it's right if the other characters have to be online. (if it comes from warlocks it's wrong because their possed sommons dont have a duration)

To echo VandaMan, the poll is indeed misleading.

1) There is no problem using pet-defend mode to help people level and grind. In groups or in pairs, what have you.

2) The problem stems from the fact that a hunter can use a high level pet on defense mode, the defended player only has to hit the mob once, the pet kills the mob, and the defended player gets full xp as if they killed the mob without assistance. Assuming the hunter used the pet only, and does no attacks on the mob himself.

I believe that is the core of the problem, and unintended by NGD as it removes some of the purpose for using XP Scrolls, and promotes extreme power leveling.

There is nothing wrong, however, with the pet defend mode in and of itself. The problem is incorrect XP distribution while using pet defense mode to help a person during grinding.

I had no idea that this was the case now. That , in my view is a conceptual problem and should be addressed. If you can't even deliver 10% damage you should yield zero XP. After that , incremental depending on the damage you contribute.
