I played a bit again and have to admit - I love it.
Sure, it's dumb as fuck, but it really is something different, this event completely changes the gameplay. Ignore any infection, and enjoy this open door stuff

I have been through all kinds of events and was here before invasions began, through all kinds of invasions and iterations from NGD and I personally find this event to be a nice change of pace.
I do find this event lightens the game up if you allow yourself to not take it serious. Personally, this is far superior to the terrible game play that I experience with the current save system and fort wars as is. It is a drag when the server goes to sleep or one side is on a low ebb I must agree but, that is a population polarisation issue and not so much the fault of this event. The fact that you do not lose health and you are able to cure yourself means that you do not have to participate if you don't want to. Indeed I did some good grinding on an alternate . There is a choice. The only downside is that eventually (if event goes on long enough) one realm is going to get a malus. This will bring complaints. NGD really needed to put a 'dispell' type wish to remove all malus placed on the victim realm. This is only a quick and dirty fix though. Not elegant at all. It shows the weakness of the invasion reward system. In time they should improve invasions to eliminate all malus and only give benefits in wish system. Devise an alternate system that gives malus/ benefit. That system will involve holding of artefacts which can be smuggled out by boats or gate. In such a case the malus will be very small and affects elemental powers . Optionally, all Realms have a slight bonus for having their artefact at home. If it is stolen they lose their realm special bonus. If they steal the opponents artefacts, they gain the elemental defensive bonus of that artefact. Something like that. This is for another thread. I stop here. |

I felt this event started like a beta but for now it's cool and i like it. In my opinion fever should be end when 50-100 spiders left, because it's real hard to find the last ones and this encourages people to kill them at all.

What an amazing event It gives some active hours to the War Zone because we are trying to take each realm's gems.
What's more, everyone could kill nobles, so don't remove this event till the noble quest resets. |

What is it with folks screwing things up for their realm with this event? Something new gets put into RO and players appear from nowhere to abuse any weakness. It was the same with warmasters, they where OP'd and this was abused every night.
Sure, its a game and the aim is to have fun, but getting a kick out of spoiling other players fun until they quit is just messed up. |

This may be the perfect population balancing tool for regnum.
Weakest realm only infects on contact (range 1), mid strong on range 4-6, and the most populated infects in an area of 7-10. (A clustured population increases the chance of infection after all.) Lower the chance of infection and the hit to HP and this can be a permanent balance tool in wars. There have been some wars won or lost because of plagues. |

The HP malus at the beginning of the event was annoying, but once removed I actually like this update. Dunno about everyone else, but I've seen wars more like before we got the new saves.
Taking it a step further, the concept behind the event (how something bad happens when a certain amount of the population is under some effect) is something I'd like to see added to Regnum......or not. To be honest, I have no set idea as to how this can be added permanently to the game, but the concept of the event was great kind regards |

Actually you don't need different ranges for that. Higher populated realms are easier to be infected just because there are more players close to each other. If NGD would implement a more natural way of infection (=not instantly) you would note this effect.
