Dmc your view on dual shots cast time is starting to become obsessive, but I'm glad it is because I totally agree with it. It never made sense that primary damage skill of the short range softer hitting bow would have a longer cast time than its harder hitting huge ranged counterpart. My preference on both hunter and marksman has always leaned more towards shortbows even tho it seems longbows dominate the game nowadays.
Also dual shot has a +100% damage bonus on it which does not take the recharged arrow buff into account which makes its damage relatively the same as our nomal hit unless its on 4 or 5 which makes no sense to me. A skill that has a cooldown, cast time and requires mana should not do the same damage as a normal hit unless it has some added effect to it and its in a common archer tree so it shouldn't be bordering on useless to a marksman. But I guess that's another issue on its own. |

It's rare, but you can see it sometimes. The advantage of shield piercing is that your next normal is almost struck at the same time as this skill. You cast SP and right away goes a normal attack (obviously faster than what would be after any other skill)

I seen a lvl 60 guy who used shield piercing(4)
It might be a good spell ( if you have enough mana to waste) |

Petless hunters use:
Shortbow Ensnare Dual Shot Tear Apart Longbow Ensnare Shield Peirce Break Apart We don't get other attacks to use from range in war. No I am not going to stunning fist people in war then run away. <Slaps a barb in the face with a fish + laughs + runs + dies> |

Actually since weapon damage was dropped in exchange for range, the damage on shield piercing has become quite decent especially for hunters. Even more if you aren't well geared as weapon damage doesn't contribute anything to it.
