Also, casting spells with keyboard means to take hand partially off of WASD, interrupting movement to some degree. There are definitely some spells where casting with the keyboard is important, such as Ambush after Winter stroke (for Marks), or Will Domain around an object (Lock/Conj), but for the most part if you are spamming some key to cast a spell, you probably aren't moving around enough, creating a vulnerability. Its best to properly balance that vulnerability with getting a spell off earlier; sometimes the risk of getting caught is too high to be worth risking a spell resist. As for drag icon problem, well that's NGD 's problem not player's problem. Fights are often lost by bugs of many kinds and that can't be helped. I think that players need to develop their own way of playing and be proud of it. Competition does nothing here; if a player is more effective playing how they ilke rather than how someone else wants them to, then they are a bigger asset in battles. Their playing style should be suited around their real life circumstances, including their physical enivonment and taking into account any health problems that they have, to ultimate maximise their effectiveness to allies. horn of the wind, which makes hunting solo extremely difficult against mulitple targets as more and more ppl become warmaster. As for pvps, barbs treehug against warlock just like warlock treehug against marks...It's not much fun to show on youtube anymore... This game is getting more and more imbalanced and making hunting solo more and more difficult and less fun to watch. I do enjoy fighting you, one of the best in Haven |

Main advantage of full keyboard setup is in RvR and small scale fights. Selecting a target while casting spells and move onto the next target with another spell. such operation is more efficient with full keyboard mode. In my opinion, full keyboard will have more pros than cons compared to a half-half mode. The ultimate end game would be to go full keyboard as it will improve your casting speed and strafing ability in combat. Ofc I'm speaking from a warlock point of view. Maybe marks who require less spell casting will be more comfortable with a mouse + keyboard setup. I have gone from full-mouse mode to mouse+keyboard to full keyboard and as a warlock, I think overall full keyboard casting have more advantages than half mouse + keyboard but full keyboard definitely require much more practise hehe The only weakness with full keyboard setup is when u commit both hands on keyboard to complete a 6 spell combo and there is no hand for mouse, you have to use W and R to turn instead of mouse because u don't have enough hands lol. Movement should be an advantage of using full keyboard. Only turns becomes a problem Occationally. Last edited by esptupac; 07-26-2012 at 10:08 PM. |

I get the impression that you prefer PvP for the same reason I dislike it and vice versa; You dislike RvR for the same reason I prefer it.
Each to their own, eh?

I use mostly keyboard when I'm in fight, ASDX combination (instead of WASD - an old habbit since DOS FPS games) and for casting combos num keyboard. I found it fast and effective to move my right hand from mouse to it and back. That way i can move my char using keyboard and cast at the same time also using keyboard. Maybe I should think about building some kind of pedal keyboard so I can move my char with keyboards, click around with mouse and cast using feet -- Slartibartfast |

I haven't been able to adjust to not having all my spells at my finger tips so I've taken the liberty of finding external programs to remap my keyboard, mouse and create macro's to cast spells on the extra action bars without having to press F2, F3 ect. For example my 5 button mouse has three buttons we don't use in RO. I've remapped my middle mouse key to be '6', and the other two buttons to 7 and 8. These are usually your spells which require fast reactions such as mind push, will domain, ivy. This also allows you to easily cast spells on your additional bar using the shift modifier. You can take it further and create a macro for alt+6/7/8. This give you 9 spells which are able to cast from your mouse with the help of shift and alt. Anyway back on topic. These are the kind of warlock videos I've come to love. Thanks for taking the effort to make these videos. They are greatly appreciated. |
