In that case I would advise you have a token system that works along side the drop system. By this I mean that when you kill the dragon, a player/players will drop a dragon item as per usual and everyone (including the droppers) would get some kind of dragon token. Be it a scale or tooth or testicle, whatever. That token can be accumulated and used to purchase dragon items from an NPC. For example a chest piece would cost 50 dragon tokens and gauntlets would be 20, very similar to the way warmaster gear works. Perhaps like 500 (or more) tokens to get an amulet. These tokens would be untradeable so that it cant be sold a moved to alts.

In this way you could be unlucky and still slowly work your way towards attaining a full set. As it is certain classes have no hope of dropping these items unless they play on their warrior alts. Not everyone has gold/xim to spend buying these items from other players who will no doubt boots its values to ridiculous heights.

Actually, this is quite a good idea. The old dragon used to drop loot so this one can do so as well.
It looks pretty simple and could be done. Making it non tradable is a gamble but it solves the issue of another pseudo currency showing up in the game which surely would happen if you could do trades. Because it would be non-tradable you can't ask for too many to craft an item.
I think Ngd should at least consider this one.
In any case +1.

Of course it does not solve the situation of natural (de)selection of classes to the instances but it is still a good idea. As is warriors will stil be the majority and as such be the first in line to acquire full kits by the alternate route.
The only way to have a really mixed group with no discrimination by class is to have a multi stage dragon kill process not entirely dependent on DPS to reduce HP. As suggested by Ulti, this may be too difficult to deploy.

He is a healer for the gelfs. He has some hardened gear and good skills. For a conj he is hard to bring down and I typically try to keep him running until the big boys can get to him. He is often one of the last gelfs to fall in a battle, which says something for a Healer.

Luke, on the other hand, tends to be one of the first to fall.

Doesn't matter your mana, regen rates, cast speed, attack speed or anything else if you are dead.

I've already suggested this 1 year a go but NGD told they have no plans to do this …
