Now that the poll has closed --
I posted this poll to help everyone, including NGD, get a feel for how the forum community felt about the idea.
Thanks for keeping the discussion civil and relatively on-topic.
As you can see, the poll results are mixed.
We know that some people with multiple accounts voted multiple times. Respondents were self-selecting. Any poll conducted by email would have the same issues.
We have 95 answers from 73 people (checking multiple boxes was allowed).
Only 19 of 73 said they would not transfer under an account-bound condition. 9 said they'd quit. Because multiple responses per respondent were allowed, there's no way of knowing how many of the 19 were part of the 9 or vice versa. 64 of 95 responses indicated "okay with it" in one form or another, and only 28 indicated they weren't. 3, of course, don't care (but they answered the poll, so they must care enough to say something). It is possible that some people checked opposing viewpoints within their response, just to muck with the results.
In the discussion, it seems most people who post are okay with the idea of certain items remaining account-bound (reflecting the poll results). The idea that certain pieces of gear should be account-bound doesn't seem to generate a lot of angst. Many people think it's unfair, but many also acknowledge the irregularities in the way some gear was acquired by certain players on Raven/Haven/Horus/others.
Most want NGD to make a decision and implement it soon.
Yet NGD says they want to get it right, to make sure transferring players are treated fairly (which is important, because unhappy players make for bad press and poor reputation), but also to limit the damage transfers could cause to the internal economy of the game, because that would cause other players to quit.
In conclusion: it appears the majority of the community would go with it, and some players would leave.
