Hi Anpu,

My understanding is that trolls, thralls and yetis have less hp than an orc.

So an orc hits for less, but has more hp than the harder hitting pets.

That's my understanding of it...

maybe i confused pets.. its one big fat ass red colored troll. maybe tol tar or something? it s very tall, annoying in forts (because you cant always select target properly), slow hitting but used once 2/3 my mana to beat him

These red tol tars are hard hitting, but have less hp than an orc.

So the most likely explanation is that the hunter cast the Skin of the Beast spell, which significantly increases how much dmg the pet can take.

The spell isn't used too often because it costs 400 mana at lvl 1, so hunters have to be mighty careful about when and how they use it...

according to this the Giant Tol-tar seems to be the best pet. No other pet has more hp, only a beetle has the same amount, but it hits not that hard.

The problem with the big-assed pets is that they completely get in your allies way.

Big pets suck most of all.

I have special disdain for dwarves that like to stand INSIDE thier bear pet (or their trolls leg), so that they can't be targeted at all, and the bear completely blocks LOS with them even after it charges. I love those bug exploiters.

Really, i seriously dislike pets for a whole plethora of reasons...but the big ones are the worst. I would shoot my own allies big pets in battles before i would shoot most of the enemies i think.
