Hi
I wounder why there is no really difference in FPS when I play in high or in low Graka settings. It's always between 17 - 20 FPS (Forest/Town) up to 30 - 50 (Tundra/Hills) the viewing distance is at low my Graka is a nVidia GS 7800 GLH 512 mb xubuntu 6.10 (1280x1024 res, 32 bit) I guess it has to do with the connection. How is it at your PC ? Last edited by Ycremon; 04-13-2007 at 09:38 AM. |

I can see a pretty big difference mostly based around the viewing distance.
with everything set to max and looking across at a distant horizon over a town toward mountains in the distance i get around 20-24FPS, with the view distance set to minium i get nearer 50FPS GFX is nVidia 7600GS, 256MB - SuSE Linux 10.2 (1440x900 res, 32-bit) considering the polygon count never gets too harsh and with multi-pipelining and threading appearing on modern GPU's I wouldn't expect anything else to make too much difference except maybe mullti-texturing. the worst thing is always huge numbers of (real) light sources and ngd have stayed away from that (thanks guys ![]() so yah - the depth of field is the only harsh setting for me ![]() |

Not only that,
We still have CPU bottlenecks issues that are hard to find (at least with little time). But we will keep improving the engine, fortunately there is a lot of room for improvement. Regards

I get anywhere from 30-60FPS depends on where I am. I usually get poor fps(below 10) in towns for some odd reason.
