Is there a way to know if you have been invaded when you were sleeping and what the outcome was?

Other than ask around, no, there is no other way.

So far on Horus, Ignis has opened the portal 7 times that I know of. The rewards they have chosen so far were 4x +XP for Ignis, 1x -XP for Syrtis, 2x SuperDude mode for one character, Efrendi got the first and Smurv got the second.

No other realm on any server has opened the portal at all

As for just being invaded, you can check the ranking page and see the status of the gems, sometimes you can get useful info from that, sometimes not.

Well you mist the german server Niflheim in Syrtis open the portal in Dez.2008.

After the portal is opened all those present within time to access it are alowd a vote. There are seven choices +xp, +gold, -xp, -gold (one for each realm) and of course "The can only be one."

They are setup as little check boxes with their names and a discription of what it does. The vote window lasts five minutes or until everyone in the portal votes. After the vote it displays a message telling all in the portal what selection was chosen.(bugged, on any of the exp +/-'s it says $realm will be such and such, other than that the bonus or negative is applied).

If "The can only be one" is chosen all in the portal are to fight to the death leaving one(obviously) to get what is called the "Draconic Gem."(arena rules apply, i.e friendly spells do nothing) Which gives the wielder +20% size(my favorite) +100% health +1000 mana +30% attack speed +100% spell focus this lasts for one week displaying a timer much like the mounts rentable in-game.(passive movement bonus not listed on the gem, about 20% movement speed)
