Time to revive this thread only because I have a question. I'm wondering if I could get some opinions (I doubt I'll ever get a consensus) on what the absolute must haves in a barb set up are. ATM I'm lvl 47 (Horus) and exclusively using a spear. I do understand the necessity to branch out into other weapons based on the situation so I welcome comments for any weapons setup.
Looking forward to hearing what people have to say. |

100% must haves imo are...
Onsl5 Frenzy5 At least one Area on 5 UM on 3 or above preferably one main wep and 2 sub weps, Eg hammer as main using slash only for diable and spear only for balstra. Past these its up to you (I have likely missed something though)

for me is my styles using Slash as my main then having blunt as secondary (Mind Squasher Rib Breaker) then using Pierce 7 for balestra for a Tactical Advantage.
You just need to find your style try all 3 weapons see which 1 you find the best for your style of fighting and Build off That

Tho for puting points in UM is a hassel for me. So if you are willing to sacrifice
some speed you can do as i do. I combine lvl1 defensive stance and lvl1 UM that gives me 85% resistances for free and the skillpoints i got left i can use in othter nice skills i want

What defensive skills would you recommend? Is Caution worth putting points in? I only have points in the passive defensive skills right now and have come to the realization that I'm probably missing something useful.
And now I have to find a nice hammer so I can add Mindsquasher to my arsenal. |

Should I use hammer for higher damages?
Started play Regnum yesterday and i'm loving it. Please, could you guys give-me some assist with the build or something like that? Edit: When I create my character > 2 in cons and 3 in str. Should I remake my character? Or this isn't important for my build? Last edited by Magrus; 05-18-2009 at 02:26 AM. Reason: forgot a question |

hmm for starting out and grinding a spear seems to be the best weapon it has a small range to it and good damage

In the beginning (level 1 - 9 ), just go with Slashing - which is the weapons you receive from quests anyway. At level 9, switch to Spears and put enough points into Piercing to get Balestra. Now, up to level 10, use Spears with Balestra to keep the mobs from attacking you. At level 10, become barbarian and put 2 points into Thirst For Blood, in Two Handed Mastery, Forcefull Blow, Brutal Impacts. Grind to level 37 by using normal hits followed by Forcefull Blow. At level 37, you have a choice. Either, you can go with Spears from here - which has the advantage that you can kill mobs without them touching you, but it will consume a lot of mana. You can also go with Blunt and use Thirst For Blood to rely mostly on 2 hit kills with normal hits + Forcefull Blow. This will use less mana, but you will get hit once by each mob. If you decided to go with Piercing, use /reset_powers and put points into Balestra, Agile Manouvers, Versatility, Rippost (Piercing level 19) and Berserk, Overwhelming Strength (Warcries lvl 15) To kill mobs, buff up with Berserk, aproach one you'd like to kill, cast Balestra and keep your range. Follow up with a Rippost. Your target should be dead. If you decided to go with Blunt, put points into Frenzy (Warcries 15) to minimize the damage you receive, Overwhelming Strength (Warcries 15), Thirst For Blood, Forcefull Blow, Brutal Impacts. And regarding the starting points, those will do just fine. If you want to change them later on there is a premium scroll to do so.
