as I said in the other thread I would like NGD to put all cards on the table and tell their reasons behind their changes, or tell what they are planning and watch the community's response, this way predicting the future and securing the game will be better.

I don't think anymore nasty surprises is good for the life of this game.

this is a community developped game

Pros:

Free to play
Native Linux Client
Good foundational layout of classes and realms
Great community
Developers work hard to keep up with caseload (give them credit where it is due guys)
Rich and diverse landscapes
Mostly cool classes and skills
Invasions (in concept)
Fort wars and open field battles are VERY fun
Most players have a great sense of humor

Cons:

Many quests or quest-mobs are bugged
Many game/engine bugs
Realm Items are woefully imbalanced (Rings, amulets, legendary and epic realm boss weapon drops--Satarco's Sword vs. Aysor Amulet--etc.)
Realm Populations woefully imbalanced
Classes are still somewhat imbalanced.
Agonizingly boring and painfully long grind to 50
Item drop rate is pitiful and most drops are garbage
Repair/durability system makes it hard to keep playing without excessive drop-grinding to pay for repairs.
Not enough weapon and armor selection per level.
Invasions (in practice) needs a bit of tweaking
Mob and NPC guard evasion/resist rate insanely high

+1 for this realistic list of pros and cons.

3rd answer. I'm still here, because RO is the best free to play (even though I buy Ximerin for rip off prices in euros) MMORPG with native Linux client. (Not a big competition in this part of games market thogh.)

The worst things in RO:
- with every update more bugs are introduced than fixed;
- almost no technical/developemnet support (at least for English speaking community, don't know how it works for holas);
- game controls lag ~15 years behind other computer games (key binding was invented maaany years ago, you know... );
- PvE sucks (leveling, game economy etc.).

The best things in RO:
- not much of "boing! bing! bang!";
- emphasis on RvR (even though it's really poor).

Be back when: 1. Selection system is fixed/rebuilt. 2. Phantom swings are gone.

voted 2.

I would be happy if the game was out of a macrobalancing phase.. eh.

Excluding balance, its nice.

This game has become more and more item-based. If NGD doesnt stop this it will end like PWI.
"Come, we are F2P, but, if you want to stand a chance against paying players, you will have to pay yourself."

The diverse landscape. Really? Mostly the mobs are all the same just colored different or their size is just slightly increased/decreased.
The diversety is not too great either, its all the same details just put on random places. Check outside samal, its the same rocks, same bones etc.etc.
Yes, the Ini zones are getting better with this, and when the whole game looks like the Ini zone of Ignis and Alsius looks like, only then I will agree on this point.

Other than that, its a nice list

I love the game mostly, other than a few balance issues and well, Invasions which imo are a pile of laggy, bugged, poorly designed, realm-hate-fuling, crap

I already told it to kailer, you don't play a game for 2 years if you don't enjoy a bit :-D

I have Guild Wars (paid and everything), I like too, it's just different. The matter is not the price for me, but what I get.

I sort of meant the elevation, trees, and overall layout of the land with debris, grasses, fields, forests, mountains, snowscapes, etc. I've seen a lot of MMO's that are just plain flat and boring. This at least takes the terrain and makes it less boring than what I'm used to.

I agree the mobs could do with more variety. But I consider them "grindstock" and not landscape.
