I definitely recommand warlock. Warlock is amazing in terms of war and also PvP. It's completely up to you whether you want to get a PvP setup, War or levelling. The difficult thing is finding the mixture of all of that. But you can do whatever you like and you can change the setup as often as you wish.
Warlocks have ranged (and a huge range, too) area knockdown with ~600-800 damage per target, they can steal 1,5k HP (in PvP very useful), they can steal the most mana from all classes and they probably have the most crowd control spells too, which is a big advantage in PvP. Additionally they do quite good damage. Biggest disadvantage is that they EXTREMELY rely on their spells, which means that if they have no mana or if dizzied a warlock is screwed up. They also don't have very much HP and a low armor.

Right now, warlock is very comprehensive, and with a good amount of VI is unrivaled in zg

Warlock is also good. They are extremely powerful in pvp (some people argue that this is the best pvp class). But in RVR, this class is less versatile than a conjurer. (everything is IMO) |

In terms of PvP there is a difference between standing eye-to-eye in the arena and being in an open field against an enemy.
Every class has his/her role in RvR. Some do more damage than others. The real question is what kind of character do you want to play. If you like the idea of getting in someones face and hitting them with an axe chances are you will not be happy playing a warlock for very long. In the warzone it is less about what is the best class and more about, you have 7 guys in these classes at these levels, they have 9 guys in these classes at these levels...how are you going to win? You just go with what you got and make it work. At the end of the day you will be spending many hours killing monsters, so pick the character class that your personality likes best.

I prefer marksman. I can kill some normal targets to me before they reach me.

For now i see better the warlock and the hunter, as its work in war can not miss.
I see the warlock as a killing machine at war. And the hunter it as a "god" in the game, because when this one, the hunter kills you or escapes. Rarely does kill him.

There is no Best PvP/RvR class. Pick one that suits you - then all will be good. Picking one that is modern and uber today will make you to switch it lately, because it will get nerfed/balanced after time. And you have to make another that really suits your gameplay.
Do not listen to what is modern and uber now. Pick what you like.
