It was mentioned in Ignis Realm chat that multi realming is against TOS.
Well, it is:

2. One person is only allowed to have one account.

This is line item #2 of the General use items in the Terms of Service Clause that everyone agrees to. I would like NGD to make an official statement on this, as others would like to think they can get away with multi realming for the sake of spying or claims of boredom.

As far as I remember, action has never been taken against multi-realming, nor has an official statement been made regarding it. In any case, if action is taken, at least 80% of the playerbase will be punished. This includes people who are members of the testing team or former balance team. Now, if action is taken against players with more than one account, at least 90% of the playerbase will be punished - this includes people who were once normal players and who now work for NGD (Kailer is one example - and now he's the community manager).

Also note that the TOS was last revised on May 18, 2007, 6 days before open beta ended.

Thanks for clearing that up, I hope the TOS gets updated eventually and the complaints in Horus Ignis Realm Chat can be resolved.

actually yeh they have enforced this quite recently, Hath's last ban was
for multi realming trying to set up a pvp. I'm sure he could tell you more if
you are interested. I dont really care much about multi realming , as long as
the person is up front about who they are, and what they want in our realm. If thier motives are benign I'm civil, if they are spammin up the chat
and being obnoxious they get the /ignore just like any jerk.

In my experience this rule is used to be able to punish people using secondary accounts to spy on other realms or going to a realm specifically to troll the realm chat or such.

Then he must have insulted someone or something, because I am aware of someone who was temporarily banned in-game for multi-realming, but only because they insulted someone in that realm.

I also know some one who had this happen. I remember the day Hath came to 'set up a pvp' I wasnt there to see it but was told he was being insulting to a player who declined his PVP request.

Im fine with multi-realm players so long as they are honest enough not to pass on any info they find about invasions dates, boss times etc from one realm to any of the other realms(s) they play in.

I was on the first time Hathy logged in Syrtis and he behaved real nicely. We had a polite chat and in the end I pvped him on pb1. He didn't get the pvp he wanted though, but that had more to do with not having a common language between them two. (My char was same lvl and class as the one he wanted to pvp though.)

Later that day I logged on and Hathy was again in syrtis realm chat. This time he had clearly gotten some syrtis players annoyed. I'd asume this led to the ban, which I though was a shame since Hathy had shown earlier, that he can behave well in an foreign realm.
