There's a myth the feathers made a terrible whistling noise while charging, they were only used to disturb foe's horses. The armour was too expensive and less protective than newer designes, introduced later.
The politician posed as a medieval fighter as he comes from a medieval brotherhood, he calls to fight for important issues. Like a new pool. Hussars are cavalry, and not medieval ;]

But yeah, this guy looks so damn cheap, like he fell from some terrible festive LARP and that dangling sword just makes me laugh so much.
I appreciate he tries to call for polish pride of our medieval times when we ruled Europe, I appreciate he dressed up and the idea overall. But I wouldn't vote for a dude who puts his dignity into colourful clothes, makes a funneh video from tax money and dangles a sword in front of terribly neglected place.
