Will a Netbook run Regnum?
Hey Guys
In the next few weeks ill be looking into buying a new Computer so ill be able to Return to Regnum again I'm not looking for anything fancy but Ive been looking into a Netbook that would run between 229$ 300$ (Canadian) I'm just curious if these Note/Net Books are able to run games like Regnum without obsessive overheating and issues like that? Any info would be greatly appreciated

Klutu!
I had one netbook around 300 dollars once and tried ro on it before graphics update and it ran at about 30-35 fps when alone and like 10-15 in war:P, but had huge freezes and stuff like that. Also all my notebooks overheated when playing ro, even a 1000 dollar one did. Easy way to fix that, i just put a fan next to the side that burned up and everything ran smoother. Goodluck

No way a netbook will run RO. They can barely handle youtube HD.

I always recommend against closed space integrated systems for graphics intensive or gaming purposes, but if it comes down to a choice between netbook and notebook, go the notebook (in the case of RO, mostly to avoid overheating).
Though you should probably get a desktop system.

Notebook = laptop. They switched the terms a few years ago because nobody really puts them on their lap anymore, they run too damn hot for that.
Netbook = the small $200-300 ones.

Netbook are generaly low processing and low video capacity, wich the main porpose is to access net and type some small texts. Notebook, well this you can find at all types, but if you want to play on a notebook i would recommend some with integrated ati or nvidia video card, generaly they are little more expensive than the ones with integrated intel video, but also they are better for gaming. |

"i would recommend some with integrated ati or nvidia video card"
+1 on this - Make sure u look at the Video Card specs - ATI or Nvidia should work fine DON'T get a Intel intergrated video card I have a Nvidia card with only 128meg of memory and can play Shader 3.0 with medium settings

If you prefer netbook to notebook or PC, the best and most favourable option you have is probably a netbook with AMD's E-350 Mobility Radeon HD 6310. Here is a graphic benchmark. For small-medium seized fort wars, grinding, hunting such a netbook should be ok, at least under fixed pipeline mode.
But if portability and battery life is not as important as performance, a notebook or PC is better. |
