Wow I can't believe so many people are against it. The other game I play actually encourages you to help noobs power level. I can actually buff a level 1 player and have him at level 25 in about an hour. In fact the few players from there I got to try Regnum quit because of the long leveling time. So allowing people to power level others might actually increase the user base in the long run.

Thats actually a pretty good argument, dont you think? So far I have invited about 30 of my friends to try regnum, whats left is... 1? Maybe even 2 of them. They all played for about a week and left after that, because they were only grinding / questing the whole time.

I can clearly remember NGD wanting to give something else to the lower level players to let them experience pvp and/or rvr... IIRC, NGD planned on adding something like low-lvl invasions to the game. Where is it? They didnt do it (yet)! Ok, I have to admit, we got a lvl 3 quest in which you get 3 duel banners... but, wow, how much can you do as a level 3 player? Ambush, Dual Shot, Shield piercing, energy barrier, arcane missle, feint and one of the three warrior weapon attacks. Thats pretty much like nothing, since you dont have any mana left after two or three spells of them and can only stand and hit after that.

The game has nothing but grinding and questing for beginners, which are far more important than the old(er) players (not saying that the old players are not important for a game, but without new players the game will die out, just like when it doesnt get updated with new things)

The game has one really big and vital flaw: You cant enjoy the game unless you either really do love grinding OR have a high-level character to war. Both dont match with like, let me guess, 95% of the beginners? Should we just ignore the beginners? You all should know that, as a beginner, you cant do lvl 1 - 17 in a day like the experienced ones, since everything is new to you. They maybe only get to lvl 5 on day1, lvl 8 on day2 and finally lvl 10 or 11 on day3.

To make a long story short:
IMO its fair to have an option for the lower-levels to get a higher quickly, so that they can go to the warzone and at least tickle the high-level players.

I voted for the second option so I am not against it. However, I don't know how it is in other realms but even with marginal or zero experience in the game it is entirely possible to get to level 10 in no time in Ignis zone. You can actually fumble to lvl 10 in a day or less.

Will power levelling a player really keep them here? It simply means that they will drop out when they hit (previously) 35-40 instead of level 20. The first few days they can't find someone to power level them they are gone. They were spoiled from the start. It only moves the problem forward a few levels and solves nothing over the medium to long term.

Most players I see tend to drop out in the 14-17 and then 35 onwards levels.
Unless you can power level these types of players to 40+ they are not going to stay anyway. And really, the curve is this game is not as ridiculous as some others. If a player does not have the attention span to last the first 15 levels they are not going to last period.

What I am saying is this: A player should not get full credit XP when grinding on a mob that is impossible to them and do almost nothing to earn it. They can yield partial credit once they can do at least 10% damage. They can yield partial XP by buffing. Why is that an issue? Feed them a bad habit so they can rage quit later?

Support the game. Buy a level 30 scroll. We play the game, we want something for nothing. We cry when we can't get content but we are willing to use weaknesses in code and then say it will help the game numbers.

The system should stay, with alterations in how XP is allotted.

I suggested a low level wz island a while back. With the new PK XP system in place this could be ideal to implement to keep players. It would also be interesting to see how much XP level 1 spells on impossible realm opponents work in the new mechanic. That could also be a game changer.

I chose the second option.

I'm not against the use of a pet to let a lower level grind faster than he can do in a normal situation. I actually think it will care for less players that quit because they have to grind and quest all the time (Which is pretty boring).

Also I think the Hunters should get xp from a pet, not too much but just so you can also support a knight/barb (I try to do that when I grind together with a melee)

Also with this new update it will care for faster lvling and more people going into the wz, and I really think ANY possible way to get low levels grind faster should be available to them, how more souls how more joy!

Using the assistoption is obviously no bug. Using it in a way that you dont gain ep for dealing dmg on mobs is a bug.

Pets cannot give hunter xp in defend ally mode or hunters can go afk and gain xp. Pets themslves do no alter the loss of xp or give credit to the hunter for attacking in groups. This safeguard is what allows hunters to use pets to "support" other classes in gaining xp and combat. The hunter only gets credit for direct action that he/she does in battle.

That too. If you don't deal 10% of the mobs total health (in damage), then you shouldn't get EXP. Let alone FULL exp.
The way the pet works is like this.

Pet will do damage - whoever hits the monster or gets hit by the monster during the time pet does damage gets credit for the pets efforts

The way conjurers buffs work are like this.

Conjurer buffs a player for xp
(if) that player uses skill first to attack a monster(then) conjurer wont get credit xp for that buff.
(if) that player uses normal attack on monster and does not miss and conjurers buff is high enough according to monster lvl (then)conjurer will get xp.
(if) player uses any attack following the buff and misses (then) conjurer will not get credit xp for the monster

So these are simple examples of how xp works.
