The UK gets credit for the first usable steam engines though, initially with hot steam cooled in a cylinder to create a vacuum, later with pressure and later still with multiple stages and efficiencies that put internal combustion engines (French) to shame.

I could brag about having some of the highest amounts of oil sands, or maybe about having the most drinkable water in the world. We also have so much lumber we can barely dent it. Also, somehow we managed to ride out of most of the recession, especially compared to our neighbor.

I would be proud to live in Switzerland. Wonderful landscape. One of the most democratic countries in the world. Is not in NATO or EU, one of the most peaceful nations in the world.
