What is this 'planning' you speak of? In Alsius we hear rumors of this thing but it makes little sence, surely to charge into battle and die gloriously is the only way.

If they deleted the boats, how would it be any different? A group that is not on the same page would still split between gems and nobles after the gate is down. Besides, the boats could also be used to hit the door from the inside, which made it more interesting on a tactical perspective.

About the last paragraph... I don't understand why some people want to introduce limits on invasions. Even if the invaded realm is underpopulated, why should the invading realm cease having fun just because there isn't enough people on the other realm? The objective is to get more people in the game, not to drive the existing players out by making it boring.

And, as a side note, I'd like to say that I believe the ridiculously long cooldown on the WM portals helped making the game boring. They needed a longer duration, but not that long. Or, if you're going to make it that long, remove the 10 people limit.

Its kinda hard or us to group around when the dwarves are always in the pub and the goats always laying down smoking grass, the only sane people in aslius are the humans and there always grinding...

This would be nice, teleports could be open for 1 minute, so you don't need as much WM (which can be problematic on horus) to get your zerg from point A to fort B.
