I freaking love the new GUI already.. The map looks awesome! Didnt test much.
The first thing i noticed was that my head didnt fit into the my info screen; see screenshot

And i just look at my screen. Is there no more combat log? Probably i ask it to early. Only checked for like 10 sec

Haha! About hte combat log, try clicking the "C" there. Should open up.

They're supposed to zoom your mini-map in and out, if it doesn't work for you it's prolly another bug because it works for me ;p

I do not agree with this one though, the party dialog is very easily to accidently exit also if you want to fast target someone you can't in the party dialog, you can on your left. If you click someone it will automatically target him/her.

Also, if I invite multiple people in party I only see the first one I invited on my left party row. And my other party members can't see everyone, for example: I invited 6 people I see them all, second sees some. Last sees only me and the person who I invited before him/her.

I just asked for the left "party" panel to be optional. Nothing much to disagree imho.

Also it is very buggy atm, i would like to know what are the goals of NGD here (ie. totally drop the party dialog in favor on left party panel, it seems redundant to me).

- I bought multiple items at once from Woodworker and got spammed by "Nanna (Horus) has unlocked Achievement: First Buy", see pic: http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/3...1121715252.jpg ... not big issue but annoying.

- Spell icons on right corner is problem for me. I got "big" screen and im playing on full screen. Buffs on ro have short duration, so i have to turn my whole head to right if i wanna see buffs. Imo this work better for games where buffs have long duration(10-30mins and so on). On ro I check buffs every about 30secs because of short durations. Or maybe you could share spells like that: auras on right side, own buffs left etc. Or would that be too confusing?

- Someone also suggested long ago that you add own bar for magic barrier, under mana and health values. Not so important imo but just saying.

- New "hand" cursor is blurry and "arrow" cursor got some ugly black pixels that i think shouldnt be there. I hope this get fixed before release.

- Also please fix that when you change spellbar with mouse scroll that also zoom in and out on game camera! It's very annoying!!

- You could also add option to select ally/enemy clicking thru chat/combat log. But make it optional, because im sure everyone wouldnt like that

- Character names still are sometimes hard to read. Imo the current character name text is good and clear on live servers..

- Would be also ideal if we were able to change positions of spell bar and other small icons. But i can live without that, if too much work

Anyway, keep up the good work!

To be honest, i see 3 positive things in this new UI:
- augmented spellbar
- selectable party members for classes that need it
- code was improved, allowing more changes in the future

But:
- health/mana barbs didn't improve
- infos is spread all over the screen
- combat log cannot be used as it is now (too short)
- new map do not add anything, it is fancier
- mini map is useless as it is now
- keyboard shortcuts cannot be bind as they should
- chosen fonts are harder to read
- health bar under target name lose its border, which is bad
- new bugs (and no, i don't think they'll fix them all.)
- character faces do not add information
- borders and sizes of dialogs do not improve experience on small screens

- chat dialogs are worse than before, not easy to know which one you are on, no configurable font size while the font size was reduced, etc....
- quests overlay is nice for questing, but as a level 60 wm it is of no use
- new map is so precise, i'm bothered by the fact it reveals the warzone to beginners too easily, discovery of the map is part of the fun, i would like a fog for unvisited locations.



And:
- new items, mostly premium, leading to increased imbalance between players
- new items, making the weak hunter class now even weaker due to increased mage defences

So please tell me, how does the new UI improved the gameplay ?

Now, if NGD would share the future of this new UI, i could change my mind about it, but for now, no sorry, it doesn't change enough to be significative.

I guess they did a code rewrite to ease future changes, and that the current new UI isn't definitive BUT i would like this to be confirmed.

Very nice UI, I'm liking it ! Portraits are a bit too big, new arrows are nice too. LOVE THE MAP its amazing . However, i actually have an idea for the 'useless' minimap, how about hunters tracks show up on that minmap? only for a second for when after the spell is cast perhaps?
