Not everyone has such a nice widescreen resolution . A better solution would be if options existed to move around parts of the GUI.

Latest version of amun has really ugly fonts for me, seems to be some sort of monospace fonts in some places.

Just stopping by as I haven't been playing lately so this is the first look (brief!) at the UI for me at least soo..I don't have a complete idea of the changes and fixes already put into amun from these pages etc, so If I tread over something already mentioned, oops. still reading this long thread

The fonts look fine for me if a bit small, Id like a scaling option maybe? to adjust the dpi or ppi whatever..I have no idea of the technical sides of pretty much everything..if its possible in the future? From a non technical point of view as a gamer..my eyes are bad (too much games I suppose) so something like this would be a usability feature rather than aesthetic, meaning it is useful for me..

(cept for you Awrath, I see what you meant when we talked earlier..it looks awful)

I clicked on the chat? (-) hide toggle button and it worked..but clicking it again does absolutely nothing. (full screen and windowed were equally crippled) I could only get it back by relogging/change character as it seemed the easiest way besides clicking a button that didn't do anything..

NPC/Player names that hover above a character when they are selected seems a bit fuzzy to me, readable sure, but unclear ( as they scale when zoomed in and out/move farther to/from the character) So up close they look very clear and readable, but at a distance which is usually the case, they tend to be a bit blurry for me.

The Avatar icon to the left of the HP/Mana bar, It doesn't really bother me either way, it looks fine for me though like some have said, servers no purpose and takes up real estate. Why not offer both classic and hmm..updated Bars players can choose to use? I don't know if thats feasible and I am fine with using the new one when it goes live, though there was nothing wrong with the old one either, least from a functional Pov. In other MMorpgs I have played, clicking the Avatar icon would open the inventory or status sheet, so perhaps adding a functional use of the space to allow for something similar maybe? Maybe even a feature when clicking on an ally/enemy avatar to show some info, maybe basic info like RP or k/d ratio, Hp/mana in numerical values, something to promote curiosity in players wanting to check out another players gear or something helpful idk.

HP bars on (mobs at least, I didn't find any enemies or players to duel with to test it) Seems to have a problem with showing real time damage at least to the HP bar above their heads. It does update in RT on the bar that appears to the right of the players own HP bar though.

The new map seems to be an issue for me (though I rarely use it..still not the point I guess) when first opening it, a white border is where it should be (i could be wrong..which is alot, just seems to be a loading so it may be my comp/net whatever, not a huge problem, my comp/net are crap anyways. either way it looks nice, though it DOES affect my framerate enough to cause slight skipping and stuttering, drop in framerate (though I have to enable map and zoom in and out repeatedly while running to cause it, not exactly something I would likely do in game to cause a at most minor framerate drop and stutter, but still a potential issue to be looked into i spose)

Quivers being infinite, fine, but please allow the option to hide quivers (I don't like them, purely visual, but I like my Anniv outfit, however the logo is quite obscured by the quiver and I can't trade it to another character so It is a loss unless I run around without arrows (which probably wouldn't matter much to hunters at this point anyways but whatever.)

Revising weapons (finally!) please do not forget to take a look at boss weapons too? they have been palette swaps for ages and they really deserve some love too.

As for performance issues, dunno if it was addressed by a fix (as i said I didn't read the whole! thread yet) but I get an average of 60-80 fps or so, does stutter occasionally, but i won't make a final say until I find a huge group of people, I can only compare it at this point to Horus areas typically that lower my fps vs the same areas and effects on Amun. I seem to have a higher avg fps on Amun tbh. That could be just lack of people at the moment though idk.

is it possible to resize chat/combat windows? I really didn't do much, but it didn't seem to resize by clicking and dragging in the past, and no buttons or such seemed to be what I wanted. (edit, it did work when I hid the combat box, but didn't resize to anything remotely useful to what I needed, could be just me of course..but I don't need a chat box that large..i want the top box to be resizeable, as I don't need/want to talk to anyone on Syrtis pretty much at any time..)
If its just me let me know..if you can't resize the combat box..well it would help to be able to.

Tooltips don't work for the icons such as inventory/character/actions etc. Not a major issue, since it is a matter of becoming familiar with them anyways, a hover tooltip explaining which one is what would be nice. (They are rather small at a very high resolution wide screen monitor, and with my bad eyes they all somewhat look alike to me

Any plans to incorporate ping and fps indicators more smoothly in the future? alt i and p work fine, and are positionable anywhere a player chooses, but they arent integrated in the gui , so they overlap or block those elements at times. maybe having another look at them or giving us a proper integrated option would be nice. at least a window that obeys focus and visibility (clickability etc) of windows/buttons below them etc, dedicated space for them or such. I know its more of a left in utility but alot of players do play with them full time so maybe giving players an option of a streamlined and less cluttered HUD/Gui would go along way. Same with /reset_powers, give us a button while youre at it most new players still don't have any idea they can do that unless told by experienced players and it shouldn't be unintuitive..

All in all it has issues and some I likely missed completely or didn't even touch, as I didn't have much time to look tonight, just things that stood out obviously to someone like me who is simply trying to have fun playing.
other than that I like what I see, despite the issues and hiccups which I am sure will be fixed before its applied to the live servers eventually, It has a cleaner, sharper look to it, and hey one more spell bar beats having to bind my mouse 4 way wheel as 4 as F keys. at least it minimizes that a bit (f keys broken XD)

I do wish the work continues on to more function over substance though, take a look at past UI suggestions made by players here, about showing rt mana values, toggle for full time hp/mana bars visible of all allies to help conjs do their jobs easier without resorting to V or another workarounds. Make parties more robust in features, let allies click on allies and see active positive buffs (or negative ones if needed Idk) would eliminate Di'ing the same player 3 times in 10 seconds etc.
Give pylon and barrier an energy bar? heck maybe even a distance meter..i can judge fairly well, but we all have had our moments of inching forward till we actually attack something..
Radius of effect circles for auras/areas to make targeting less trial and error for some players maybe, as long as these can be disabled visually for those who want less eyecandy and performance overhead etc.
I know i have missed a ton of peoples' ideas as i haven't read those posts in ages, but maybe NGD should take a look and see if they find a new idea or a different approach. how can i click a player when hes inside 5 other players surrounded by allies or enemies? things like that could be addressed via a UI interface (clicking on them in party possibly, or hitboxes above their heads in the form of an icon or bar or such..instead of their impossible to find bodies at times..

BUG REPORT: In the latest version of Amun, I am having alot of trouble moving around. The game is acting like every few feet of ground is an obsticle, even over flat terrain. To make this worse, I fall trhough the terrain every few steps, especially on slopes. A relog did not fix my problem. The game is unplayable.

Debian Linux 64-bit, AMD 1100T CPU, GTX 480 GPU, 8GB RAM, latest drivers.

That is the IBM VGA BIOS font. Congradulations, you're participating in nostalgia that is decades old!

Seems the game falls back on it when it can't load the real fonts.

I assume the new 1.5mb update was a fix to the fonts, as the "Downloading:" font changed mid resource download from that monospace font to a more normal looking one.

However, my client appears stuck at resource number 51280, and all I have in the background is a black screen.

Regarding patches pushed to the live server, it seems this thread was useless.

What's the point of feedback during test period if NGD ignore all comments and fix nothing before release ??

Also, communication about taking servers down is near zero.
Where's the changelog for today's hotfix ?

NGD, Christmas holidays are great to play RO because people have time, and you break the game at the start of them... well done !

Agreed.

We complained about the font.
We complained about the face next to the hp and mana.
We complained about buffs being on the right.

Yet they still pushed the update to live servers. Unfinished of course...

- In the options menu if you disable "show active quests" then press tab to switch off GUI then switch it back on again the active quest lists reappears whilst in the options menu it has been unticked and remains unticked.

- Scrolling the spellbar makes the screen zoom in and out, this was reported a few times before the update an it is very very irritating.

- Game shows 60+ fps but with GUI on everything is verrryy choppy its more like 15 fps not 60+ so i have no idea whats going on but i know its the GUI since when i switch it off everything is smooth.

- HP/Mana bars can't see jack.

- Allow disable face animation, or better yet an option to switch it off completely.

- Everytime i open the map I zoom out and it seems to have to load the map in parts which is just slow and irritating, old map was instant for me.
