"Our eye color has pigment, similar to our skin and our hair. As we age the pigment lesses and fades out, it's all very natural.
A person with eyes other than blue generally doesn't start to get their "true" color until the eyes are exposed to sunlight for a period of time. I'm not sure if LACK of exposure would cause the lightening of pigment, or if it's simply a loss of pigment with age.
Maybe because people get have cataracts by the time we're in our 30s that dull the color of our eyes. Most people never have to do anything about them, others have to have them removed by the time they are in their 50s or 60s because the cataract becomes so thick they lose vision."

So stop complaining man will ya?
