to party or not to party...that is the question.
there are few cons and pros about being in a party.
pros : it's more fun you can talk to your friends and bound strong friendships in the game you kill monsters much faster you can finish quests faster (if your allies can take your quest) cons : you get much less experience you get much less gold so... what do you think....to party or not to party ? |

Right now, as far as I can tell the only things being in a group does for you is create a chat room while playing.
The exp splits the same if you are in a party or not (you do damage or heal ... you get the exp split). Meeting quest goals is the same inside or outside of the party (You put at least one hit on the critter ... you get the record for a kill). I felt so bad with the warrior I grouped with once. My pet outdamaged him all the time ... plus I was using my own attack ... plus I was healing. The result was that he got maybe 10% of the exp Can you confirm that you get less gold? Does anyone know how gold splits while grouped?

I've tried both
and I got more exp when I fought alone but another pro in a party is that you can go on a stronger enemies. |

I think you gain faster in a party because you kill faster, fight harder stuff and rest less.

As others said, you can kill monsters much more efficiently and quickly in parties, making up for the lack of experience. It also is great for chatting when leveling gets to the point of grinding (And I can practice my spanish).

the amount of idiots out there that have no idea of how to effectively play their role in a group is astounding! I just stopped wasting my time with groups, many ppl in groups just function on their own and do not assist.

numbr1stunnr, I think they don't play effectively because they don't have any chance to learn how. It's true that a lot of people can't kill a single mob, but that's because nobody taught them how.
Why don't you try to party up with people you know they'll be good at killing... And if you can't, start teaching them how to kill in groups. Partying is fun for me. You can kill stronger mobs, wipe out entire areas, lvl faster... you can chat with them also, so you don't get bored so quickly. Of course, some people choose to be lonewolves and they love it (and it's ok!) and some of us enjoy being on groups. That's why I'm a Conjurer, to help in groups. I assist. I know my role. I try to teach to my partners how to play. Social skills are part of the MMOG's.

Long term I get much more xp solo. The problem is that parties need to attack tougher mobs; BUT you can't damage tougher mobs. Anything RED is not worth it, you are much more inefficent in affecting it and so the xp bonus ios no where near worth it. This is a problem with the design of the difficulty to hit mobs higher level than you. It detracts from the efficiency of groups.

Being in a party is more fun but u can´t be in a party with a newbie. When I try to help a newbie in a party, my character get all the exp and the other members get 0 exp points.
