To many conjurers
I know you are healers (and i'm happy when you don't try to play warjurer) and i know during the fights you must be proud of standing in the middle of everyone without being on garde. i have a conjurer, i understand that very well but this doesn't make sense at all in a war.
the damage you do with your staff is far from nothing. every hit counts in war. it doesn't cost you anything you just have to click an enemy when you're not healing someone. it's not that hard and it helps a lot. besides instead of just standing there watching the others do the job, there are a few offensive spells that are very important for conjurers, like Tremor and Pricking ivy. but even if you don't have them, the staff damage will do. it's really frustrating seeing someone running away or crossing a fort door with 10 hp when a shot from the crappiest staff would have finished him. |

Maybe cause they are clicking every ally to make sure no one dies, or because they have a range 20 fast staff, or they are always out of range because of staying in the back and trying to not get killed.
I really dont know the reason, but i dont expect a conjurer clicking on dying enemys when i or a friend is lacking mana or life. |

I understand your frustration. However it is difficult to keep track of the status of 20 of your teammates and 20 enemies at the same time. When I'm in a large battle, I will generally be in the middle of the pack and slightly back, which will maximize coverage of my area spells, and make it easier to heal/buff those in the front taking damage. From this position, I cannot reach the enemy.
However I will at times switch to offensive or short periods, under some circumstances: If a barbarian or knight runs into our group, I will ivy/steal mana/knock them so everyone else can kill them. If we are on the offensive, outnumbering a group so I know my teammates will be fine for a few seconds, I will ivy/knock/tremor them, and sometimes hit them with my staff if they are badly wounded. If I am buffed with Energy Barrier and Mental Block, I might cast Tremor in the center of a group of enemy warlocks, but I have to run back FAST as this is when I most often die. If they resist, I might get knocked down and killed before I get a chance to stand up again. However, if I spend time looking for an enemy with 5% health left for me to kill with my staff, I might not notice my teammate at 5% health desperately in need of healing. My staff might do 200 damage the enemy, while a heal spell will replenish a teammate with 900 damage... far more effective to stay defensive most of the time. |

I think it depends on the situation, but I basically agree with you, in large battles I prefer to heal, and I find myself fighting in smaller, the conjurer is definatly not for healing only, because in 1v1 combat they ARE practically impossible if they have the right setup, mana burn here, pricking ivy there.
Might I Add somtimes not all conjurers have the attack setup at the right time, if there is a sudden attack on a fort, not all conjurers are going to have a combat setup, most prefer to have the support one, |

Arr for what reuhman is saying i agree with him because in lots of wars i go I'm the only one that have coraje and go attacks the enemies and conujs don't heal, onl try do dmg and dmg.
One time, I was in an "army" of conjus, I was the only one that wasn't a conju and i attacked and they never healed... I just want to say conjus can heal and isn't doing the area health magic that u save everyone.

Personally, as a Conjurer I rather focus on supporting my teammates. It's hard enough to keep track of everything in this game. The Party bars update so slow and are essentially useless. You can't see HP bars unless you mouse over them, which can be hard if everyone is clumped together. You also cannot see anyone's Mana status unless they are in your Party (and again, that status updates SLOW). You have to manually keep track of everyone, constantly mousing over them, watching for whatever spells are flying around, who gets hit by what / which ally is casting what (to keep track of their Mana usage), along with the damage numbers. Again, it's hard enough to keep track of these things for your allies.
For me at least, I either am going offensive or defensive. In large fort battles, it's too hard to do both. Going offensive is usually pointless since others are FAR better at it than me and it's usually too risky. Going up to 20 range just to finish off an enemy at low HP running back to his team? Hell no. Let the Archers handle that. If they need Mana, I'll be happy to give it to them. If we can't get the kill, too bad, at least we're still alive and can try for the kill next time. Hell even when trying to break down the Fort Door, I usually don't like to stay there unless I know it is safe. If it's safe, I'll wand it; however, if a large amount of people are defending it, it's usually not safe. Enemy Warriors and such often come out to defend the Fort Door and if I'm standing there (attacking the Door while hiding from the Mages/Archers above), those Warriors will attack me (easy target). If I try and stand further back, I'm a prime target for the Archers / Mages above. Conjurers are WAY better at Healing / Supporting others than Healing / Supporting themselves. There's no point to make yourself a prime target like that. I might offensively use an Ivy if the risk for the team dying is pretty low, but that's pretty much the extent of what I'll do offensively. Defensive Beetles, Ivies, Mana Borrows / Burns, etc are a different story though. I agree with octopus. Due to it usually being too difficult to keep track of both defensive and offensive sides of the battle, a Conjurer getting blood thirsty can risk ally deaths, along with his / her life. Do you really want your Conjurers running to the front trying to kill people and having them die? Even if one enemy Warrior is pushing in, a Conjurer pushing up to Ivy him risks getting Area knocked / dizzied (made useless), whereas a Conjurer who stayed back could avoid the Area effect and support the people who are now taking damage. I rather the Conjurers just focus on supporting rather than killing while the other classes focus on the killing. But hey, if a Conjurer can do both effectively at the same time, all power to them! I can't so I won't (unless it's safe to). Last edited by undefined; 10-20-2007 at 07:26 PM. |

Morover if a staff shot would have killed someone thats also meaning if another archer have targeted him he would have died too. |

I don't support this. We cried so much about warjurers in the past. It got better. Now we cry about conjurers.
They ARE meant to heal. You could blame Archers for this I think THIS is THEIR job, at least hunters.

I agree with octopus on this one conj are there to heal n buff,if they can wand tickle now n then they usually do.
we are lucky to have some great conj in Alsius and most do there job well. the only problem i have with any conj is that some bring there summons to forts this is a total pain in the butt it blocks our view and we cant lock on to the enemy forcing us to go to the side or front. so keep your summons on a lead out the way guys n girls then we may have better results |

My conj is a little low to be any use attacking in the wz right now, I'm having enough trouble getting into the pattern of healing large groups of people. Eventually I plan to put some points for ivy so I can annoy the enemy while everyone is healthy, but until then, I'd rather stay out of combat mode to keep my mana regen as high as possible.
