Yea, for you not using the pets is definatly the best because you fight in fort wars. I think a hunter not fighting in a fort war can benefit greatly with a pet. We do agree on something it seems.

For most of my time in regnum pets were terribly bugged, so i didnt use them almost by default. Getting lost, getting stuck, not attacking, drowning when i crossed bridges, etc, etc. I did try them again after the last set of updates, and i still prefer without. when i did use pets, i vastly preferred small hard to spot ranged pets. Even if i was going to use a pet, it would only be a goblin shaman. And i cant get my other skills where i want them to be using one, so i dont use one. Plus, pets are not very useful in fort battles. My reasons are really quite simple, and numerous.

I dont begrudge anyone that prefers them, i just think i'm more dangerous in a non-pet config.

Plus the pet is a dead give away that there's a hunter nearby in many cases. The single greatest edge the hunter enjoys is surprise, and sadly, pets often take that critical advantadge away.
ok here is a tip about pets....

1) Escaping enemies with pet
a. camoflauge
b. click a near by enemy or monster and run (if u have arrows on make sure the enemy is behind you or you are moving or you will shoot and become visible <u can also take arrows off>
c. the pet will attack the monster / enemy and you are still invisible
d. you escape

2) if you cannot escape the enemy even with camoflauge
a. camoflauge
b. find a large beetle or large monster
c. run inside the monster and sit
d. now you have a life barrier and you can kill a person with low life or hide.

there are more... but i dont want to make you unstoppable!

Hunters need ranged pets... because warlocks have wind wall and when maxed, the pet can hit, we evade all I don't even care anymore of the pet once wind wall buffed.

Since ghosts are no more tamable, i manage to "perfect" hunters if they have the bad luck to be at low mana. On the other hand those with evasion maxed are still unstoppable

HAHA, I always make my pet attack my pursuers - makes them deal with something other then me so I can hide and get away.

i really think hunters need ranged pets i don't use em often but i do use them in fort wars if i can find them because if your the hunter that sits on the wall hitting with your long bow your pet jumps off the wall and runs into packs of the enemy and gets raped into the ground or if your the one whos one the ground who runs into the crowd like a barb to cast stunning fist on some guy then your idiot pet follows you can back of but your pet sits there moronically attacking him for all his worth while being killing within 2 seconds. it's the same thing try hunting the person runs pet doesn't get to hit em all in all if your outnumbered in any case your pet is killed within minutes without getting a more if that two hits ranged pets hit thats all i'm saying

It really does suck though because a lot of time the pets take so long to run to the enemy. There are little tricks you can do, but its still pretty bad.

After starting my own Hunter, I conclude the following problem, a pet does not keep aggro away from you almost at all, it is a shame, the pet does not attack first if you move away, which it does on a conjurer...

Should'nt there be a pet heal?

Pet only attacks what you attack. So pick targets carefull and get rid of aggro first. I wish there was a "guard me" feature with pets....

It's the new aggro for mobs lvl 1-15 and yeah that's a pain. Be patient until 15, after the mobs' behaviour is back to what it was used to
