Mak: Yes, i'm serious. Being 3 feet tall with no penalties is totally unfair to the big people.

I think dwarves should be in some ways penalized as listed in my above post, but i also think you should be harder to hit as well, because of your reduced size.

Just because a game is of the fantasy genre does not mean that things should not be realistic. The laws of physics can exist happily within a fantasy realm. A longbow using dwarf is ridiculous, fantasy world or not. It's stupid.

While you're at it, how about Elves can't use shortbows? I mean, it's so obvious with your "massive" dexterity that you would snap the bow in half, I mean, come on, you guys outnumber us anyway!

P.S. I'm "serious"
P.P.S. So the dwarves are masters at smithing and such, we can make bows out of bone and make a shortbow that shoots futher than your wood bows

Dwarven archers simply use sturdier bows with smaller arms on it, due to theire immense strenght and constitution they make the bow shoot that far because -yes- of theire strength. You weak elfes need longer arms on your bows for that, dwarfs simply use thicker ones and pull a bit harder. so both gain range 30.

Dont let the fact that models for all bows got arms of the same length disturb this simple argumentation. Im sure shorter dwarfenonly bows will come before 2100 and allow us to hide behind trees with bows the ready without bowarms sticking out at all. Its kinda unfair as it is. And yes, if they include fitting models dwarfen shortbows would even be more short then the ones the elfes need, its easy as that. The thing about hiding behind some grass is nonsense ... all alsian dwarfs i saw were far too fat to do such a thing ... or is it our gras thats so thin because of our hard climate? dunno ... dont care

First of all id like to apologize for going off topic.

Ok heres my 10 euro worth, please look at this picture

This is as you can see a child of about 7 years of age, about the same height as a real life dwarf. You can also see that this child is using a longbow even though he would be weaker than a real life adult with dwarfism.

Therefore problem solved, Dwarves can use longbows. If anything, as elves are apparently of a slighter build than other races, They should have the penalty of not using longbows as they are too weak to draw the bowstring, similarary their knights should have aluminum armor and weapons for same reasons
