but of course, it can refer to some cultural style, I may be not informed enough, as medieval bows aren't my thing! I really love the colour and light, won't stop babbling about how great it is ^^

Yep, I know quiver belts exists too. I think it looks cooler than the usual back strapped quivers ('cept the one used by Farah ) but possibly this method of carrying may damage the fletches more easily. I decided to put the arrows in the ground 'cos that's what they used to do for longbowmen. They are entrenched in a position where it's hard for the enemies to get them and the arrows are supplied in that manner so it'd be faster to nock (drawing from belts are still slower, you can try this yourself by posing the nock-draw-loose stance ).

Look carefully and you will notice the tiny details on the gloves and in the arm protector!

Thanks guys
I uploaded the event file(s) for this artwork if anyone's interested in having a look at it. In general, an event file is sort of like a recording of how the artwork was drawn, stroke by stroke. The original size of the image was 2880x3840, which is why the files are so big :P To view them you'll need at least a demo version of openCanvas, the latest version may be found here: http://www.portalgraphics.net/en/download/oc4/ (1.87mb) Here are the event files: http://uploader.polorix.net//files/3...ksdwarf_01.oe4 (16.8mb) Initial sketch and rendering (Tip: You can slow down the playback from the 'View' dropdown menu). http://uploader.polorix.net//files/3...ksdwarf_02.oe4 (34.9mb) Touch up and finishing. (This one is pretty long, don't bother to slow down :P, I doubt if you'll watch it till the end anyway) |
