Unhappy The new ultra gay wall.

Lately, I often see a very lame strategy: tons of ranged classes standing on the wall, and if you step 1mm from the wall you get instantly attacked. It seems that those who are exactly on top you still can't attack but those who stand on the other end of the wall can attack diagonally down. Additionally it is just ridiculous how warlocks can use mod/crystal blast on the wall, affecting those standing close but not directly under it.
The problem is: If your realm doesn't have enough ranged classes to bring the wall down you are more or less forced to walk under the wall. But then again you can't see anything because you have to stick so close. Additionally, with everybody sticking so close to the wall, ppl stand inside each other and behind each other all the time. For conjurers very hard to click.

The wall should be as a measure to attack on distance and keep the army away from the fort. but like this, it just often does the opposite, making ppl totally stick to it. This just totally destroys the fun, independent of whether your realm is winning or not.

Maybe a bigger zone around the wall where both parties cannot attack each other will help (But then again there is the problem with short ranged attacks like spiritual blow. I don't know if making the zone bigger will make spells like spiritual blow be out of range).

P.S: I put this in general discussions because I hope that more ppl will read it this way. And I'd like to hear your fair opinion, not the kind of "I'm marksman I have fun like it is" - opinion. and the next time I see it in a very ridiculous form I will include a sreenshot

Yeah it gets old real damn quick.

Especially when Syrtis zerg us to death at Samal, more than 1/2 their army will be on the wall, making it damned hard to approach / do anything.

Am I missing something or is this the interest of having range class ? Am I missing something or a fort is supposed to be hard to take ?

I recently decided to go for a range setup with hight parabolic shot to start fights from hight range (39m), but you know I'm a lame hunter so don't expect me to fight interestingly.

To me it's far less ridiculous than archers rushing with SotW on like EXZURY does. Archer fireing from fort Wall that even sounds like real fort wars to me.

EDIT: When you guys yesterday were all close togother on the path from the save it was damn hard for me to target who I wanted. This is just due to the targeting system of regnum that is really hard even when fighting small groups it can be hard.

Fairly simple fix. Allow defenders to dump burning/boiling oil over the walls.

Thats the purpose of forts, keeping the enemy away.
I vote on hot water and rocks, but the burning fluids is also good.

gph I think you misunderstood me. I want archers to be on the wall but I want them firing at LONG range and not right under their feet. You can't do that in reality either.

Holing up inside the fort and lining the ramparts with archers would be an intelligent tactic in real life.

In a game played for fun, i find it a bit of a yawn...

I prefer to be outside the fort fighting. I have fought from the walls but it can get pretty damn frustrating getting the 'you are out of range' message all the time. Besides its more fun on the ground

This is also a strategy. Start shooting a one ennemy, he will fall back, and not be dangerous for you. For me all that count is keeping the fort, not killing. Killing just helps but if your ennemy just fall back it's ok too. When an huge number of ennemies are taking step back, you have a good opportunity for a charge with Warrior, mage and archer areas.
