Default New here: conjurer help

Hello everyone

As the title already mentions: I'm new here and I need your help.

Questions:

1) What would be good to train in these skill trees for a conjurerer that wants to be a good support for his allies, but wants to be able to fight alone in battle?

2) I've read something here about reseting skill trees, so no worries if I mess up. But how does this work? I mean, when things have been reset, do I have to gather points again or do I just get them all back?

Actually, any helpful information about conjurers would be helpful. How to act in battle, how to train, buffs?, etc.

Thanks in advance

When resetting your powers you simply type /reset_powers.
after a countdown you will have only the basic spells but all the points
you had before you reset, so theres np there.

As for the best setup for a conjurer - no idea

First of, what lvl are you? configuration depends highly on what lvl you are. At first you'll be focusing on damage (mental and summons) and using most other spells at lvl 1. Later on you'll want to add heals and mana regeneration and much after that you'll be putting points in control/defense spells that'll help you in pvp.

You can't be good support and be able to fight at the same time, however, you can be full pvp and use a few things for support pruposes: heals, divine intervention and mana comunion are base support spells. Other options are steel skin, tremor, mind push and static field though you won't be able to have them all. Basically you'll be focusing in control spells, damage, summons and heals.

The other option is to be a buffer/defense conjurer. You'll have your lvl 5 heals, enchantments, sorcery and the rest divided between mana and mental to give you a wide (but not quite full) array of support and defence spells. While you won't be able to actually kill anything you'll have tools to stop them from killing you, mana burn and drain combined are a pain to deal with, same as silence, ivy, mind push, beetle swarm, will domain and so on, tremor is feared in any war situation, steel skin is your wall and sanctuary your lifesaver, buffing up your allies grants the enemy will die faster, disipate negates some of the most feared spells in the game (even dots) and mass disipate can do miracles if timed right, even at lvl 1.

Both are popular options. The details are up to you :]

Sorry for not replying for a few days. ^^

I'm lvl 20 now. I'd like to have a decent setup for lvling effectively first. Then when I'm lvl 30, I'll go take my first look at the warzone and test both of the options. After that, I'll probably just go lvling again.

I hear a lot of good things about staff mastery for lvling. I don't see why though. Does anyone have any explanation on that?

Yes, it's very easy on higher levels. All you have to do is get a nice staff (depends a little what staff is "nice", but I use a medium speed with 30 range with a good damage bonus), then you use the damage bonus buffs in Staff Mastery tree, Arcane Acceleration and a summon (ranged summons are often better - I didn't even use the golem but went Lich -> Zarkit).

All you have to do is then to re-buff every 2 minutes, resummon when the summon runs out and the rest is just click and wait (perhaps some back-pedal in between).

Perhaps you want Ambitious Sacrifice and/or Mana communion in between to keep your mana level up. Some players also use Mental tree (Pricking Ivy, Will Domain and Beetle Swarm) to keep the mobs at a distance, but I usually kill the mobs before they've even reached me.

I wouldn't recommend staff mastery before lvl 37. Best setup until then is mental + summons + mana control + low heals, and it's still a viable choice until lvl 43-45 where staff mastery becomes a better option, I belive.

SM is fine 29+ where you have two magnifications with 40 damage each, then at 33 you get a third.

Well, the problem is that you can either be a good support or a warjurer, but still, average warjurer (not Beijing who has some wild attack boosters), sucks in fort wars and is usualy an easy kill.

So you can either train mental and staff mastery for warjurer or life, sorcery enchants for a good support.

There are simply not enought skill points to be omnipotent. ;-)

Regards.

Yes, platyna has a valid point: if you find yourself a big group to grind with the best way to grind is to use heals, Mana Communion (and other mana spells) and then spam enchantments as fast as your mana allows. You can grind with players on a much higher level and get insane amounts of XP.

I did this at level 35+ on the inner beach and later on orc camp until I got to the level where I could use staff mastery efficiently. It's usually enough with 2-3 players to buff (one works, but is slower) but a bigger group can be better.

To answer your setup questions:
I don't think there are enough points to have a good solo fight setup AND heal your allies (efficiently anyway).

And yes, you can reset your skills with the command /reset_powers.
No, this does not get rid of all the points you have earned, it just sets them up for you to reskill them to the trees you like.

As a conjurer, I usually have a grind (training) setup and a war setup.

The grinding will ALWAYS have a summon. Staff Mastery as well. Heals will be necessary as well, since you will need to heal your summon eventually. Use the remaining points on Mental if you have any left, just for a little more offense.

For the warzone, you will want to have heals as high as it can be. Mana control helps for defense (also synergy bond is essential, providing your allies with mana when they need it). Then I usually spend the rest of the points on sorcery and enchantments for buffs.

A little note: A lot of people think Ambitious Sacrifice (trading hp for mana) isn't very useful. It helps more than you would think in BOTH situations, especially in the warzone, when conjurers need mana most. I hope this helps. Have fun with conju!
