I've lost my character

Is it normal that now my character do not exist anymore??? I ask just cause it looks like there ain't no more "Kefka". When I connect to server, Regnum Online asks me to choose a realm, but, (shit), I was already in Ignis with my level 9 warrior, I had finshed all the quests, and I was growing my strenght...
WTF IS HAPPENED? PLEASE, IF ANYONE KNOW WHY MY CHARACTER DISAPPEAR, I'D BE GRATEFUL.

And so it' all normal? It was a specific path of the game development? And so have I to begin again with another character? And if this will happen again, will I lost even this new character?
