conjurer vs. warlock levelling
Hello everybody!
I'm a level 10 mage now, and I'm trying to decide whether to be a conjurer or a warlock. Generally, I prefer being a support player, so a conjurer seems to be the logical choice. But I keep seeing complaints about conjurers being impossible to level and getting nothing from healing. Now that would be a problem, because I don't really have horribly much time to play. And to do any serious support, I'd need to get to a relatively high level. So the basic question here is: Is it possible to level a conjurer reasonably quickly? How do I do it? Is the warlock insanely much easier to level? If so, I'd go for a warlock - after all, they are kind of supportive too, just more in a "big bada-boom artillery"-way, rather than the ambulance-way of the conjurers... Thanks a lot in advance, -grayFalcon |

The warlock is much easier to lvl in a Team, for solo playing i think the conjurer is the better choice.

Just look at the stats
My friend, Xzorstlok (Conjurer) is the most high-leveled char in the game

Its all down to playing style, Conjurers are a little bit faster than Warlocks to level. But i think that if you like healing and supporting other players that you should choose Conjurer and not warlock.
But in the end you should choose what you enjoy to be playing and not something that you feel is forced upon you because its faster in leveling. The game gets much more fun that way regards

conj ARE easy to lvl. alone but also in a group.
a conj might be doing fine without a group but a group never does fine without a conj. and that you dont get xp in a group is a myth. A conj can get loads of xp when using the skills right. |

"A conj can get loads of xp when using the skills right."
No you can't. It would be nice to see your calculations, testing reports or just arguments for that. |

a lvl 15 conj or even warlock can lvl with lvl40 ppl. just heal or buff or give mana each time a mob get killed. then you will get the party xp. this way you get 100-150 xp per kill. on equal lvls you probs have to heal you ass off and use mana communion and deal dmg besides |

It's my firm belief that a conjurer is one of the easier classes to level in the game and for that purpose, one of the more versatile.
In a group, you will send in your summon to fight then watch over the party, healing, providing mana and "buffing" stats as appropriate. When supporting several people, you will do a little for each one as you need to - it's frantic & hard work, changing targets every 1-3 seconds and trying to maintain a good view of everyone while they up their pace because of your presence - as 'Twix said, you can provide useful support to characters many levels higher than you and gain experience and levels even when you simply cannot hit the creatures they are attacking. Within a party like this - if you're working hard at it you will ultimately end up letting your summon lapse in favour of support & tying down the targets to ease the strain on the warriors or protect the archers. In the process you will become very vulnerable to attack - and just as your party members will learn to trust you to keep them alive & fit, you will learn to trust them to protect you from the monsters that attack. Alone, you will hide behind your summon, sending it to attack and then keeping it healed - periodically changing targets between the creature & your summon so you provide a few extra hits along the was - doing eveything to make your summons life easier that you can. You will conserve your mana for the moment the summon vanishes - ready to call another one immediately. When soloing like that - you will find it easiest on easy to normal creatures using speed and continuous levelling without breaks to gain your experience quickly. As with everything, there is an art to it - treat a conjurer as a tank or combat machine and you will have a hard time because it simply isn't. Ultimately, party levelling is always more fun and companiable even if it frays your nerves after a while. I love playing a conjurer and simply couldn't be persuaded to change for anything. The support role is surprisingly difficult to master and ultimately very rewarding for you and the people you are supporting. I hope you find the conjurer far more than just an ambulance: Its a valuable aid to any balanced group and often very appreciated - particularly by knights we notice - who's repair bills can be phenomenal: if you're good at the craft you'll watch them ditch the armour to save on the bill because they can trust you to hold up your end anyway If you're in ignis - look up Illandria or Taeris, we'd be happy to give you a hand. If not, best of luck and if its the support play you like - you'll find nothing else compares. Best of wishes. icckleblackcat Illandria Conjurer Ignis icckleblackbird Taeris Conjurer Ignis Ignis very own terrible twins |
