Dear NGD Studios and all Game Moderators:)
I and many others have enjoyed Regnum Online as a product for a very long time, and "hope" to continue to do so. Some things that used to be no longer exist in Regnum, perhaps a public statement is needed from you on some matters.
I. Beta Regnum of early 2000's ----1. The Developers were actively seeking our input on what we wanted to add to the game (and testing very often) --------A. Most of the changes made were to enhance gameplay very few nerfs. (I.E. Fireball spell was a true area and did 100% damage to all hit etc. This was seen as overpowering since it had a low cast time low mana cost + we had more warlocks then) Now that Regnum has matured and developed more, less and less input from players is needed about what we like, and more data is needed from actual gameplay to tweak the servers so that the game runs smoothly. In other words..... Our comments on how skills work and their effect are not as valuable as they once were, thus ideas will seldom be considered. The game itself is stable in terms of combat content and very much so even ground with realm vs realm with two groups close in numbers. (this does not mean that the group with the most numbers will defeat the group with the most skill) So NGD is it about time you made a public announcement to all of the players of Regnum that all you need from us now is to play the game, that the game is as you will design it to be, (Since it is your product) that you no longer desire our suggestions about skills and balance (you do have a balance team), This comment would at least let people know that they should not waste their efforts in crying their hearts out to you about their less than level 50 characters getting killed as they travel alone or in tiny groups in the warzone. I came to the understanding that all the above is true from all that I have seen. The crying on forums is just breeding more whiners and hatemongers to Regnum. Please Give us a sign!!!!!! Best wishes and best intentions always Demon Monger |

If it is like that... then remove the suggestion/balance forums, they are useless.

I dont think they pay attention to them either, i mean i klnow theyre busy, but theres ALOT of nice suggestions (and some crazy ones sure) but alot would add to the basic functionality of the game..and they go necroed fast with out even a response.
SO i believe they don't care about about player input in a game that is reliant on whether or not people WANT to play it..so thats like shooting yourself in the foot honestly. but hey its their foot..

Hehe this time you made the poll neutral
I wish they cared about what the community is saying... 10 Threads about resists per day and they don't even consider it important enough to fix it this year. Bloody great...

I couldn't find the exact posts but I remember NGD replying to some big changes that were flamed by the community with "you will see this is better than your suggestions" or "in time you will see that this is good after we make X more changes" or something.
To me it seems that "this was not good" based on my own experience and these kind of threads.

about the balance. i think DM hit the nail on the head . they been doing it for a few years and i believe that they've gotten to point where they can put a pretty ribbon on it. Of coarse not everyone is happy with this but ive played many mmorpg's and ive learnt that you cant please everyone. people will always find something to complain about and this forum is full of examples. theres no superior class, certain classes do better in certain situations but not one is overpowered. its just a matter of utilizing the tools that you are given and learning how to deal with the obstacles ahead of you. |

If you think balance is very good now, then you obviously didn't play in 2007, when hunters could tame ghosts and have 15s unrestricted 98% evade/resist SotW with no one complaining.
But somehow NGD always finds a new way to screw this up. It's going to take more than a mod posting "everything's gonna be alright" on the forums once every 6 months to keep the community happy, and I'm sorry if this is a harsh comparison, but I will not be the abused wench in this relationship thinking "oh, but he still loves me". |
