Facless vs Known mod

ok I post this poll to settle the argument to which the community as a whole prefers.

Post away your reasons why you voted for what you did or dont w/e

I voted known as having an approachable mod is much preferable to a MoD you cant ask questions too as you dont know who they are and how to contact them except via the Communtiy mail address

all games have mods either way. So no i believe it isnt.

I like to know who my Mod is, or at least be able to contact them. And yes we do need a mod, you may get all high on free speach and such around now but many things I see in realm chats are highly unsuitable for a game where 12 year olds are aloud on, I have seen racial discrimination, hugh flame wars a lot of swearing over nothing... and when someone is personally attacked there is little they can do about it other than /ignore but even they they are still being constantly insulted, they just dont know the exact words.

Do you really care? When in no way it affects you?
Lets get this straight. What is the purpose of insulting? Belittle, provoke, cause mental stress? /Ignore fixes all that for you.

Btw, do people who just mind their business and play the game get trolled or insulted? I have never seen that happen. The whole flame war is usually between two trolls. Either way you dont care. Just ignore both of them and play in peace. Even if you get trolled for absolutely no fault of yours, you just ignore them. People inherently know whose side truth is, cos mostly its obvious. They will troll for sometime and just quit bored because of a lack of response.

Infact, instead of installing mods, NGD should make the /Ignore work both ways. So that the people who you ignored dont see whatever you type.
The more i think about it, your argument seems more lame...

Well quite clearly you are in favour of a unknown mod, after all you have plastered it all over the forum the last few days, Im not going to change your mind but you wont change mine either. My opinion remains that a Mod with a face and a presence is a good thing, a deterrant is better than a fix after something has already happened. In the same way your less likely to break the law right next to a police officer if you know a mod is around your more likely to behave.

I think your /ignore working both ways idea is good.

I have repeatedly said in the case that we MUST have a mod. i ll go for faceless.
But faceless i meant not being friends with people, socializing, just doing professional mod duties. Dont please twist my statements the way you want them to be.

It is true that without a Mod we mostly got along just fine, but having one who can step in when things get out of hand cant hurt. 'The System' with Dyk is working, we get more insight to whats going on at NGD, and the forum is cleaner, so why go backwards?

How long Dky's gonna do this as a volunteer thing? Say Dky leaves after 5 months. Then what?

Besides who said its working fine? You do read the forums right? Even this dissent is just the tip of an iceberg.

Earlier if someone flames in rc its their fault. They just got banished from the community. But now it would be NGD's fault for not properly moderating the chat. I am ok with Forum moderation. But no game moderation. Also let him act as a liason between NGD and players. No issues. You can pm him for more info here. Let him post threads here. But no game moderation please.
