Default Knights (warriors), a few questions.

Hiya,

I have a reasonable amount of experience with this game, and some classes. But the knight class is still largely a mystery to me. So I have a few questions about knights (warriors). I just thought I'd wack them all in one thread :-).

Part one, What works?

Most of my questions stem from the fact that dizzy spells do not have an effect on a knocked down player. I know Shield Bash for instance does not work on a target while it is knocked down (unfortunately). This leads to confusion though;

What about Disable Limb? Mind Squasher? Crushing? and other spells that not necessarily do damage but do have a cc effect? Do they all not work on knocked down players?

Also, if you can think of any other spells that you sometime see casted but wont, for some reason, have an effect, please share :-)

Part two, Hunters and their pets
I'm currently grinding mostly near Trelle market/beach, because of the good type of mobs there and the proximity of the save obviously. However, not surprisingly, some high level hunters seem to deem that place good for proving their immense skill, considering the fierce resistance they get from the level 35-40 players that grind their </irony>
I don't pretend to stand much of a chance against a level 50 hunter, but if it's 1 vs. 1 (or better 0.5 vs. 2) I try to at least kill/hurt the pet, or keep it off me as much as possible.

Often times, the hunters buff their pets. Mostly with Bestial, sometimes also with that defense buff. I'm a fan of the blunt weapon tree, so my little knight instinct immediately makes me think "MS!". But what do I MS to remove pet buffs? The hunter or the pet?

Part three, Taunt?
I think (someone please confirm) the protection malus from Taunt works on mobs. I have never used it on a higher level than 1. For grinding it's just a tool to get a mob from in between a bunch of aggro mobs.

It also seems to work on hunters' pets, or at least it is cast-able. I'm not sure if it really has any other effect though, since they pummel me to death to fast. Is it worth it?

Part four, Armor
Resistances seem to have an important effect on the damage mobs, and players?, can do to you. So currently I'm sticking with the lower level Full Plate armor, because it works better against the mobs I grind on than the higher level Sudang or Gladiator armors.

From some topics in this forum it seems that Dueling armor seems to be the next best thing to go for. Lucky me, I already dropped a Dueling breastplate (no bonus) for level 40. I've been running around to all merchants and blacksmiths, but I can't seem to find one that sells level 40 Dueling armor (only 41 or higher). Did I miss something or is it not available?

Also, for later, some people advise me to stick with Dueling armor even at lvl 50, except of course I find other with a good bonus. Other people say they prefer Dragon/Guardian armor. So ... which is it now? I guess it boils down to what matters more, armor points or resistances?

Part five, Aura leeching
Does this still work after the big aura nerf? Or is it just too much hassle nowadays to keep your grinding mates in range of your aura?

I hardly see any aura's being used in grind parties. Compared to in the past where every grind party had at least one aura spammer. Not that I'm looking for the easy way out or something .

Thanks in advance for any input :-).
