8 crashes in the same evening a minor issue ? We don't share the same values.

The graphics drivers share the same OpenGL rendering code between Linux and Windows.
Or not. Test it by yourself, you'll see.

Because even if most of the Desktop Environments in Linux are as simple if not simpler than Windows, it's still very different. The core of the OS is radically different and same for the possible issues the user might encounter too...
Only few people switch because they want to lose their time to discover something they don't care. Each switch I heard of is because of painful crashes, virus/trojan/whatever, OS that slows down months after months, need to reinstall every 3 months, unstable applications, reboot each time something got installed ...
In fact I never knew anyone wanting to discover linux if everything went fine on windows.

In the best case it's just uneeded, in the worst it's just leading to the frustration of the user (who naturally becomes an anti-linux troll)...
Constant crashes are not minor/stupid issues.

I first suggested to remove some options in regnum, since he plays on safe-mode it's useless. Then I gave him a fully tested solution. He has choice now, give a try and test regnum on linux or stay on win. No one pointed a gun at his head. He knows there is a good solution. Free for him to try it or not.

@ blood-raven:
Make sure you have a windows restoration CD and back-up all your data. Sometimes shit happens.

And no need to reboot, linux has a pretty good amount of programs, only AAA games are lacking (except regnum). If he plays on safe-mode, I doubt he's a hard-core gamer. So everything will be fine on linux: web/youtube/facebook/twitter, photo/audio/video, mail, instant messaging, games, ... and most of them for free.

...and thinking blood-raven may become a linux/win troll...
Since he doesn't pay much attention to computers, I doubt he will haunt all forums on the web to search for trolling topics.

Never heard of losing sound ? Multiple crashes in game ?
I hear of them everyday from windows players.
Not a single one from linux players.
