We think we know so much yet we know so little, mainly because we can't accurately see what happened 10,000, 100,000 or 1,000,000 years ago. There could be a cycle that is still in motion, there could be no cycle at all. I laugh at the scientists that would think they have the mysteries of the earth solved, even more at the idiots that award them applause for their bullshit findings that are only stringed together by more theories. There are numerous areas that we have yet to cover, so much that the human mind cannot even begin to comprehend. A volcano could erupt 10 minutes from now and engulf half the world in ash and our "great" scientists wouldn't know shit.
Sadly exploration in science has more or less died, and instead we tend to base everything now on theories. We invest in bullshit experiments like the LHC, when we could be learning more wonders from the depths of the earth by funding projects like what the Russians did with the Kola Borehole. I admire modern entrepreneurs like Eric Anderson for being part of the few people willing to take matters into their own hands.
