I suppose people see or interpret what they want to see.
bois is also correct in stating that there are three realms for the reason of 2v1, not 1v1v1. At times people, as individuals or groups, have their own reasons to aide another temporarily. This does not mean there is an 'alliance' or pre-planned grouping. Sometimes it is driven by boredom, sometimes by something as intuitive as wanting a break (like the Multi that placed a red relic in Imp the other day). What drives one realm to show up at another realm's fight is really only known by the third wheel, but again I say it is far from an 'alliance.'
I have noticed that Ignis and Syrtis have been working less together but a few weeks ago this was not the case. Ignis, especially has gained in strength in the past few weeks and Syrtis in numbers and this may have something to do with it. It might also be that more multi's have leveled up in opposing realms so they just bring on the account that is in the realm in question rather than cross-realm support.
It really does not matter in the end, however, for this game is designed with three realms to encourage some cross realm cooperation when events should make such cooperation conducive to two realms opposing the third one. This is a fluid situation and changes about as often as a politician's position on nearly any issue, including Syria (I mean, really guys!). It makes people wish others would make up their minds already, but that will never happen, not in this game, and that is one thing I love about it.
Aries, I think I know who you are. You are an exception, not the rule. There is a difference between one or two acas showing up to get in some RPs and an entire zerg-force helping out with impunity.
I was at Efe the other day and I still am confused as to what went on but I think it was boredom driven on Ignis' part because we had such problems getting the gelf gems.
Anyway, three way battles are fun and tend to end up as a kill-fest that leaves only one realm standing.
