It's nothing about archer being strong. Atleast not a jewelled one. It's just that it's easy class to play, you don't risk much, if you're fast or have 50 range, you can pew pew from far and then run away. Most players prefer using only ingame shortcuts(superior range, speed, jewels...) to achieve victories over skill. Just look on class like warlock, it's much harder class to play. Archer isn't much stronger imo, it's just easier to play.

And archer is easiest class for winning alongside knowing nothing about mastering it. Sure, there are many fine archers there, but imo this is the reason why there are many archers.
