Plz help

Ok i am brand new to linux just wanted to try it out and all i really do like it over vista still have vista installed so i can just revert to run games from there but, i installed Regnum and then got the regnum launcher to work until after the log in screen it just disappeared a lot of people posted about this but i don't know if there was a answer. What do i do it just goes away...running on the newest unbuntu karmic.
