Not detracting from Kings ability as a writer mind you, but I think the only
films derived from one of his books that lived up to its potential was "Shawshank Redemtion" and perhaps "The Shining" . Before anyone flames me... I emphasize its not Kings shortcomings as a writer but the abilities of the film makers that make the movies so mundane. "The Stand" would have been an outstanding movie (series of movies) had it been done right.
