Another Horus Story xD Apoc Style
Meryn and I Hate You decided to try this business of writing a Horus story enjoy what we have and anxiously await more
Part I Panting and gasping for air, the young huntress staggered to catch herself against the immense wall which surrounded her beloved homelands. The scorching sun was low in the west and crimson dust blew across the Ignean desert and swirled up around Meryn’s feet and ankles. “Would the lady bid well to enter amongst the familiar realm?” Trel-had spoke kindly, for he knew what great affection Meryn felt for her countrymen and her native soil, but he also knew her passion for joining them against the forces of evil which had since long ago invaded and conquered the ancient lands. Having been battered by the effects of war, she was ashamed to come crawling back to the safe reaches of the Ignis Great Wall, and yet the guard encouraged her to rest. “Yes, I believe it would do me some good to seek refuge and continue my training.” The training was grueling and ceaseless, or so it had seemed to her these many months, but she had not reached that maturity which would leave her a lethal role in the battle which raged on. Since her journey began, she had not known what kind of commitment it would be to join the ranks of the Ignis army. As a young denizen, she had only heard from her mother the stories sent by her father of his great expeditions through the untamed war zone. She remembered sitting by the fire in her childhood home in Nazraah Tej Village. As she played with a makeshift bow she had constructed with some branches and twine and petted the sweet hyena cub that rested at her side, her mother would read her the letters that arrived each day from her father (and he did write every day). Meryn would listen, with wide eyes, to the fascinating adventures her father had written of with such strong patriotism, and it was then that she knew she would always want to join the ranks in effort to gain back the lands which once belonged to her people. But she had not thought of how great an effort that would be and what struggle it would be to even make it that far. Her mind far off in the past, reality came back to her quickly as her entire body pulsed with the energy which transported her back onto safe soil. Her head racked with pain and her sides aching, she finally collapsed to the red dirt. “How could I have failed my people? I am a disgrace to this great army, to my clan, and to this realm.”
