That's exactly my thought about every single Lua tutorial on the Internet. I printed the Lua Reference Guide (so I could read it on my way back home) and was quite a bad idea. The metatables section wastes 5 pages and is not clear enough. The API is redacted in a "it kinda works like this, but don't bother with it, go look some examples and come back later" style.

I wanted to write a kind of distributed lua with a redis storage, but I guess I'll just hack a quick module for node.js.
