Fall Damage Details

Hi,
I have a lvl 50 barb with 80 constitution. There is a ramp in all the forts that many players my level and higher like to jump off lemmings style just for fun. I jump exactly at the same spot as them, but always get a 1k or 2k fall damage injury. I asked others present about it and they had no clue, some suggested constitution, and seeing that I have only 80 (I have been told 100 is more of the average constitution), it might be possible constitution affects fall damage or when you get it.
I'm not demanding answers, I'm just curious as to how the fall damage system works. Any ideas? (Or answers)
